(Bottle 50 cl) Not entirely black, this has a reddish tint. Very light and dry but not really bitter. Lovely aromatic and slightly smoked. A fresh easy-to-drink beer. 060305

From bottle. Aroma of sweet berries, part liquorice and smoked oak. Black colour with a decent off white head. good texture, smoked hops and chocolate malt. A little more strength would have been great.

Pours black with thin head that disappates rather quickly. Has a rather smokey aroma, flavor is balanced, with a fairly strong initial taste followed by a very smoky aftertaste; reminded me of roasted espresso bean. The richness of this stout does not measure up to others I have had, and the taste does not match the darkness and aroma. Still it is better than many, and while not a rogue or a guinness, it does offer a nice variety that should be sipped and enjoyed.

Bought it for the bottle alone; wasn’t disappointed with the overall experience. Has a little bit of a watered-down coffee taste. Not one of my favorites, but I would drink it again.

Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is mostly burnt malt and barley. Tastes of semi-sweet cocoa, more burnt grains, earth, and hops. Finishes like a typical English style stout, thin and bitter on the palate.

Good example of the style. Full complex chocolate flavor. The malt dominates and lingers on the palate. Good but not a session beer.

Bottle from Jungle Jim’s. Pours a dark brown with a medium tan head. Chocolatey aroma with dark fruit and apple notes. More chocolate and apple in the flavor with a smoky and dry finish.
