500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.0%. Black colour, big and creamy brown head. Pleasant aroma of dark roasted malts, coffee and dark chocolate, hints of smoke and tar. The flavour has roasted malts, mild coffee and dark bitter chocolate, some fruit in the finish, with a roasty bitterness and moderate hops in the aftertaste. Good beer, but would probably profit from a higher ABV.

Pitch black color with lots of tan head and lacing. The head stays around for the long hall. The aroma is very roasted with lots of french roast coffee & milk chocolate notes as well, light soy sauce once it warms up. The flavor is very smoky and nonassertive. Very balanced finish, not too bad, good solid flavors and a good finish.

Jet black body with ample tan head. Coffee and chocolate in the nose. Some smoke detected. Mouthfeel was a wee thin for a stout. Flavor was chocolare and coffee and a touch of smoke. Decent.

Bottle. The colour is pitch-dark; the medium compact, two-finger high foam is brown with some beige spots.

The smell is full of burned dry malts and some coffee with a hint of butter/cream.

The carbonation is rather strong (stronger than I expected for a stout) with small bubbles.

The taste is burned with dry notes of coffee, dark bread, soil, toffee cookies and a touch of salt. The body is rather weak with a medium-strong bitterness. The aftertaste is also burned with a creamy feel and a slowly growing sweetness. It is not particularly long lasting, but well balanced.

I found this being a rather mild stout, making it easy to drink.

Bottle. A huge beige head on top of an almost black beer. Lacework too. Wonderful chocolate, vanilla and espresso aroma. Earthy flavours, almost a bit meaty, with good roast. Dry finish. Solid stuff.

Pours jet black into an English pint. Tan head recedes to skim surface. Milk chocolate and smoke aromas. Oily and slightly thin with upfront espresso and a lasting sour, roasted chocolate finish. Lots of flavor for 4%.

Bottle. Deep dark red-brown colour with a nice big creamish off-white head. Very good long lasting sticky lacing. Aroma of roasted malts and coffee, some chocolate. Nice creamy mouthfeel. Fresh smooth flavour of roasted malts, chocolate, roasty coffee, slight liquorice. Bitter roastish finish. A tasty brew indeed!

Bottle - 500 ml. Jet-black color with medium-sized, decent lacing, creamy brown head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, cocoa beans with notes of peat and slight smokey character. Nice peaty, smokey flavor profile with chocolate and mocha dryness. Some resinous hop leaves and some lactic acid feel sensible at the medium. Silky and creamy on the palate with soft carbonation level. Medium lasting rather dry finish. Easy drinking, tasty, coffeish stout.
