Milk chocolate and smoke aromas. Oily and slightly thin with upfront espresso and a lasting sour, roasted chocolate finish. Lots of flavor for 4%. faroeviking (6122), BjórtjóðveldiðBjórheimBjórsins, Faroe Islands

notes of peat and slight smokey character. Nice peaty, smokey flavor profile with chocolate and mocha dryness. Some resinous hop leaves and some lactic acid feel sensible at the medium. Silky and creamy on the palate with soft carbonation level. Medium lasting rather dry finish. Easy drinking, tasty, coffeish stout. bhensonb (4358), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 6, 2008 500 ml. bottle. Rich chocolate and malt aromas. Sweet. Opaque brown/black color with a finely bubbled and impressive tan head. Near medium in body with coarse carbonation. Flavor starts with chocolate, merges into coffee, followed by toasted malt, and then back to something like mocha. Cacao is in every sip. The finish tapers off to something smoky scotch malt with a tad of sour. Finishes rather dry, with a little sweet chocolate, and bitter from toasted, burnt malt. Does turn a little watery with time. Big Khaki eternal head. Mostly smooth, a bit of coffee acidity, mostly dry. Medium bodied. Finish is quick, given the roastiness of the beer. Overall, this wasn’tt as complex as I would have liked, but very good and smooth. ogivlado (3088), Zagreb, Croatia

Eventually I decided it was like supping a strong dark coffee.Well
worth a try. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 16, 2003 Thick and oily in the pour, like changing oil. We are talking black here, with a huge tan head with little hints of black dipping through in places. Like drinking a cup of coffee with a shot of espresso dropped in for that roasted taste. Full of body and flavor, but kind of one sided. Lots of chocolate and a bit of nutty goodness in the aftertaste. This one does not last very long at all.
