Wonderfully clear ruby-brown color with a medium-sized beige head. The aroma was dominated by the smoke tones...some peat, sweet bread, and herbal hops in the background. The flavor was very smokey with a strong earthy peat character...some sweet bready tones, and a slight herbal hoppy bitterness in the aftertaste. Smooth, slightly thick feel and a semi-dry finish.

Wonderful malty aroma with subtle hop presence. Body has a touch of herbal and dry moss character. Fairly flavorless though.

Huge off white head, copper body. Extremely watery, floral taste, nice and smooth though. Mainly a floral hobby taste to it, and just is watery... Dissapointed.

A very hoppy yet creamy beer. Big tan head on it. Kind of popped in the nose.

Rerate Tallahassee, Fl - Liquor Loft - 500 ml bottle - Phenols gone, good toffee and caramel flavor. Pleasant spicy aroma. Much improved. Original 2.3 Looks nice - rust colored pour with eggnog colored, creamy head. Aroma is a bit phenolic; has a bit of a glue like odor to it. Phenols carry over to the flavor as well. Has a bit of a caramel and toffee thing going on as well, but not enough to pull this one up. Has a slight band-aid taste to it. Mouthfeel is decent, very creamy. Methinks I got a bad bottle - will look for again to give another shot - others from Orkney have been decent.

(on bottle)Malts and some fresh fruits in this deep amberish brew. A bitter-fresh mouth. More bitterness and jsu a hint o smoke in the aftertaste. If one waits a bit, the mat and some apple comes out to. Weakest ale from a very excelent brewery

Bottle. Poured a large sized creamy off-white head that contained fine-medium sized bubbles that were mostly lasting. Fast-rising carbonation, transparent and a red-orange hue. Malty and hoppy aroma with a bitter, malty, smooth hoppy and watery flavor. Smooth and water/thin palate. This was a light bodied beer with sparse lacing.
