| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 3, 2009 500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.0%. Copper to mahogany coloured beer, big off-white head. Pleasant aroma of lightly toasted malts, caramel and floral and fruity hops. The flavour is first very malt-accented with caramel and biscuits, then spicy and moderately fruity hops come through, leaving a nice bitterness in the aftertaste. Definitely a good Scottish ale this one. DrDavid (957), Johnson, Vermont, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 5, 2009 Bottle. Fragrant malty aroma. Deep red body, creamy light tan head. Flavor is malty, nicely woodsy, chocolate and caramel. Very pleasant, very drinkable. My sample certainly wasn’t watery, and there was a nice prolonged finish. lithy (1845), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

Aroma: Sweet malt and yeasty must and bread. Taste: Mild hop spice with a medium body. A little dulled by age but decent overall. Fruity and yeasty with some roast in there. I bet it is quite tasty fresh. cgarvieuk (4218), Edinburgh, Scotland

This feels like the quaffable younger brother of Orkney’s Skull Splitter. With a price comparison, I believe I would by this over the Skull Splitter, though both are delicious- I only wish this had more abv. :[ ErikTheViking (76), Oslo, Norway
