| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 9, 2009 Bottle thanks to machfive55. Pours a ruby brown color with a small white head. A super sweet nose of caramel, musty malts, fruit and some brown sugar. The flavor is similar; dominated by a rich caramel malt, a interestingly dry and fruity malt profile, some light alcohol and sweet sugary notes. Not too sweet though, and quite nice. The Orkney malt profile is nice. gbdub (73), Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 7, 2009 Dark ruby pour with large off-white head that fades quickly.
Toasty malts, almost roasted, dominate the aroma, with some sweet figs and spices coming through later.
Rick roasted malt on taste. High alcohol content certainly makes its presence known in a lingering finish.
Alcohol heat can be felt on the palate for a long period. Satiny smooth though.
Alcohol is too dominant!
