| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 2, 2009 This does actually remind me of highland park. A really nice barley wine with a full body and some smoky notes. Starts out sweet and then arrives to a dry hoppy finnish. On the negative side doesn’t actually split my skull in any way. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 2, 2009 330 ml bottle. Nice amber body with white head. Leaves nice lacing. Immediate nose was a little vegetative with sulfur notes and I thought it may be skunked. The smell disappated and left hints of cherries and a sweet smell. Mild carbonation. Definite notes of fruit, particularly grapes and cherries, along with some honey on the palate. Very sweet. Rich, sticky mouthfeel. Is this cherry coke syrup? Definite alcohol notes but it finishes pretty clean. The sweetness is just a bit too much for me. Beerdedone (1885), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 27, 2009 Ruby color with little to no head. Fruits and caramel aroma with some spice in the flavor that I could not place. Very drinkable even with the higher alcohol content. mickmac (105), Ngunnawal, Australia
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 27, 2009 Poured with a small creamy light brown head and a dark ruby colour. A roasted toffee-caramel, dried fuits, promite/vegemite aroma/taste and light hop/clovy spiciness. Medium bodied and only lightly carbonated. A doppelbock like ale. Delicious. larryLSB (163), La Selva Beach, California, USA
