Commercial Description:
Available filtered in 330ml bottles.
"Named after Thorfin Hausakliuuf, the seventh earl of Orkney, this reddish coloured ale has an intense vinous nose, is rich and satiny in the mouth with a long dry finish and deep rich fruity notes. Described as ’Satiny smooth in the mouth, deceptively light and dangerously drinkable’."

330 mL. Pours a deep crimson almost brown with a lively tan head. Aromas of prunes, black cherries, apricot, oak, and alcohol. Taste is powerful- lots of alcohol, burnt sugar, toffee, caramel. Syrupy mouthfeel. Overall very sour and boozy- unbalanced. Has a lot of potential but needs work.

Dark red colour with a medium beige head. Sweet malty dark fruit aroma and a sweet malty light hoppy fruity taste. Medium to full body and a sweet light dry finish.

Bottle. Dark caramelly brown with a fluffy tan head. Smell is sweet, with dried fruit (apricots, prunes, figs) yeast and a little bit of smoke. Flavor is very sweet. lots more dried fruit and yeast. Not much hops. This is an okay beer. I suspect that it is better fresh.

Enjoyed this beer from the bottle at Firestone’s in Frederick. It had a dark amber-copper color with a foamy white head with moderate retention. The aroma was a strong grainy and earthy hops mix with a bit of barley malt and some dense fruits. A strongly sour and bitter taste, which was a bit rough, but still good. The body was fairly wet and full with average carbonation, and a solid mouthfeel; the alcohol content was noticeable.

Bottle... Poured deep amber/copper with an off-white head. Aroma of oak and robust malt. Carbonation was very low and it was very smooth. Incredible to sip and enjoy slowly, the flavors were very sweet and fruity. Seemed barrel aged but I don’t know if that’s the case of this ale.

Deep copper w/frothy lasting head. Aroma caramel, yeast, dark fruit, cotton candy. Complex flavor profile, caramel/plum/prune/candy sugar/mild flashes of bourbon at times. Very smooth, full bodied brew. Great for a cold evening, sitting by the fire.

12oz bottle. Pours a medium brown with no head. Aroma is of alcohol, sweetness and a surprising tart character. Flavor is creamy sweetness with some alcohol, but not much else. Average at best.
