Commercial Description:
Available filtered in 330ml bottles.
"Named after Thorfin Hausakliuuf, the seventh earl of Orkney, this reddish coloured ale has an intense vinous nose, is rich and satiny in the mouth with a long dry finish and deep rich fruity notes. Described as ’Satiny smooth in the mouth, deceptively light and dangerously drinkable’."

From bottle : Pours a dark brown color with a half finger of white foamy head. Pretty nice lacing that slowly drips back down to the edge. Nose is sweet fruits, with the alcohol hidding behind them, playing peak-a-boo with my nostrils. Taste fruity with maybe a little tea-niny hint of alcohol. Palate is thin to medium, and dry at the end. Very drinkable for a 8.5%, its kinda scary.

Pours a very dark amber color a hint of a sweet aroma. The alcohol is apparent at first then smooths off. The taste is a little fruity at first but smooth This is a good beer that I would buy again.

Bottle (from Bottles York). Sweet with plummy malt and a hint of liquorice. Strength not overly noticeable but a bit sweet and lifeless.

rated while drinking. bottle. not much of an aroma. smooth and quick drinking for a barley wine. not as complex as some of the other barley wines avalable but still cares the familar dark fruit flavor. very sweet and malty with a little chocolate at the end. seems to hide the alcohol a little too well.....

Bottle. I had this at a party and I thought it was a sweet stout at first. It was remarkably smooth in a medium body filled with black malt.

aroma of maple syrup and marshmallow. smooth for a barley wine, but all of the rich intense flavor is still there. bright caramel and alder wood flavor. explosion of flavor without the strong alcohol overtones.

Bottle. Wow this is a great beer. Hardly any aroma, hints of caramel malts, pours a deep ruby amber color. Good balance for an 8.5% brew, alcohol masked very well.
