| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 31, 2007 The aroma was nutty with strong caramel and smoke and a deep malty nature. The peated smoke was strong and fruity coupled with the malt and dark fruit complexity. The beer poured into the glass chunky and a bit nasty with suspended proteins in the amber brew with an off-white low lasting head which laced the glass. The flavor was malty with a strong presence of caramelization coupled with a nice smoky phenolic from the peated malt. Dark fruits, namely raisins, were present and the flavor was well balanced and well achieved. The finish was dry with a phenolic smoke character lasting into the aftertaste. The body was medium full and with a moderate level of carbonation was creamy in the mouthfeel and on the palate. A very nice Wee Heavy, well crafted and just the perfect amount of smoke. 11.2 ounce bottle.
