| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 3, 2007 More like strong light scotch ale than barley wine. Less botterscotch sweetness and more fruit and dry bitter hops than scotch ale. Earthy peat smokiness. waolsen (1224), Littleton, Colorado, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 31, 2007 The aroma was nutty with strong caramel and smoke and a deep malty nature. The peated smoke was strong and fruity coupled with the malt and dark fruit complexity. The beer poured into the glass chunky and a bit nasty with suspended proteins in the amber brew with an off-white low lasting head which laced the glass. The flavor was malty with a strong presence of caramelization coupled with a nice smoky phenolic from the peated malt. Dark fruits, namely raisins, were present and the flavor was well balanced and well achieved. The finish was dry with a phenolic smoke character lasting into the aftertaste. The body was medium full and with a moderate level of carbonation was creamy in the mouthfeel and on the palate. A very nice Wee Heavy, well crafted and just the perfect amount of smoke. 11.2 ounce bottle. CinnamonGirl (40), Tromsø, Norway
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 31, 2007 Lots of sweet fruits here. Plum and sherry - a little hint of alcohol. And nuts and coffe. Complex. Long lingering aftertaste. Lovely. (Enjoyed at home with my first listening to Neil Young’s Live at Massey Hall 1971!) Bartzilla (445), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 30, 2007 Extremely smooth barley wine. Not much on the aroma, but the taste is pleasing and easy to drink. This is where the Skull Splitter part comes in. I can easily see myself getting aptly sideways on this and wake up feeling like a mighty battle axe had been thrust into my poor skull. I sense danger. Great stuff. jcwattsrugger (5581), Florida and, New Jersey, USA
