| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 16, 2007 Pours a wonderfully deep amber color, with small diminishing head. Rather sweet body, which is balanced out by some a nice peaty smokiness. Some fruity flavors add to this beer’s complexity. The 8.5% ABV is very well masked. Great beer. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 15, 2007 Reddish brown with a giant off-white head. Aroma of peat, malt, hops, and chocolate. Flavor was very similar with a palate that left me wanting the next drink. This reminded me slightly of a Scottish Ale. alexanderj (2280), Chino Hills, California, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Feb 12, 2007 Bottle. Dark amber colour with pale brown head.. Nose is dominated by malts and barley. Taste malty and sweet . The taste isn´t lasting for long. I haven´t tasted many barleywines, but to me Old Foghorn stands out as much better and complex. M0RHI (1067), Luxembourg, Luxembourg
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 11, 2007 Bottle. Pours a dark ruby colour, slightly cloudy, fizzy head of tan that fades instantly. Nose is malty, sweet with metallic and vinous hints. Mouth is sweet and winter fruits are present. Some malt. Palate is alcoholic and warming, slightly frothy tate. Very drinkable, if slightly too sweet in the great scheme of things. Strykzone (1497), Wood River, Illinois, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 11, 2007 What a great beer! Plenty of nice malt in the aroma and flavor. Dark fruit is readily apparent as in a nice bitterness. However, I would not like to meet the earl it was named after. Willin8 (55), Massapequa, New York, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 10, 2007 [Bottle, February 2007] Pours deep reddish brown with small head. Aroma is all caramel. Flavor is heavy caramel, coffee, and slight chocolate. Chocolate becomes more apparent as it warms. Alcohol is fairly well hidden. Surprisingly good considering someone handed me the bottle out of disgust of the flavor. Free beer! jainsv (112), USA
