Jun 3, 2007 Tried at Pizza Port’s Real Ale festival from cask. Bought a bottle, but ended up trying it at the festival. I love the funky strong farmhouse malty aroma. Common red-orange color. I can’t get over the smell, almost buttery, but in a good way.

Mar 14, 2007 Cask, Loughborough Fest 07. Red/brown with a small head. Aromas are rich and malty, fruity and vinous. Toffee and caramel with lots of pepper. Flavours are vinous, fruity and rich with autumn fruit and berries. Some red wine notes. Viscous on the palate with warming alcohol on the finsh.

Feb 1, 2007 Cask handpull at White Horse, Parson’s Green. Chestnut colour with thin beige head. Great sweet malt. Some appley woody texture. Good candy sugar. Very nice. Best example I’ve ahd of this beer. Very drinkable.

Jan 30, 2007 Cask Dark red-chestnut beer with a small cream-coloured head. Vinous nose, old wine, even old beer casks, alcohol-sodden wood. Vinous flavours, with a wine-like acidity, alcohols & fusels. Tastes of casked Tarragona wine, if less fruity. Some malt apparent, just a hint of caramel. Pinch of mild curry powder. Surprising MF - without being anywhere empty, it has no more than a slight oily viscosity, and presents medium body only - making it dangerously drinkable; still, after some time the alcohol presents itself. One of my all-time favourites.

Jan 12, 2007 Cask - handpump at Max’s, This beer is a strong tasting ale. You can definetly taste the alcohol, but overall the beer had a great taste to it. some fruit and spice flavors. and a bit of honey too.

Dec 2, 2006 (Cask at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 26 Nov) Dark brown/mahogany colour with amber notes. Fruity nose with dried fruit (apricots, prunes) and a hint of wood. Fruity taste with notes of dried fruit and spicy hops in the finish. Rather vinous with a well balanced sweetness. Alcohol well hidden. Nice and warming.
