Jun 3, 2009 12 oz bottle thanks to ibrew2or3. Pours a murky brown color with only a small bubble of head. The aroma is nice; smoke, roasted malts and chocolate. The flavor is similar; chalky, sweet chocolates, roasted malts, light bitter chocolate, milky. Decent, but lacking a good body.

May 5, 2009 12 oz bottle. Black pour, brown head. Aroma of vanilla, charcoal, light roast. Light vanilla notes, heavy roast. Some flavor of green peanuts. Light medium bodied. Finishes with nice roast notes.

Aroma of roasted coffee malts.
Taste of roasted malts, possibly some faint notes of smoke and chocolate. Light hops with a nice sublte bitter finish. Some dark fruits can also be felt in the mix. Overall the beer is light, and drinkable.

Feb 17, 2009 Fairly dark brown. No head. The aroma is chocolatey with a toasty accent. Soft body. Light chocolate with a fudgey accent. Finishes off-dry.

Feb 15, 2009 Sample @ brewery taproom. Opaque black-brown. Great smokey aroma is super toasty and very rich. Low carbonation. A little burnt in the flavors but that adds some dryness. A nice sessionable tipple.

Feb 1, 2009 12 oz from GodofThunder pours deep brown with a creamy tan head that hangs around for quite a while. Big time roasted coffee aroma and some cream too. Very thin body and not a lot going on. Some burnt coffee at the end and a little bit of sweetness. Very dry and that feeling lingers. Coffee porter gave me high hopes, but maybe I will try again in when in Florida this summer.

Jan 24, 2009 On tap at WDW. Poured medium-deep brown with a short cap of off-white head. The aroma was sweet and chocolatey with dry-roast to it and accents of peaty smoke.. just what I needed. The flavor didn’t come together as well.. dry-roasted black malts gave some chocolate character at the core, but not a whole lot.. faint smoke worked in its favor, as did light coffee bitterness, but both could have been more prevalent.. rather bland with black malts on the finish. Medium-bodied and dry on the palate with lower carbonation.. smelled better than it tasted.
