Commercial Description:
A classic dry porter with coffee, toffee and roasty notes in both the aroma and flavor. Black in color with a refreshingly dry finish. Reminiscent of the porters of old before the days of stouts.

12 oz from GodofThunder pours deep brown with a creamy tan head that hangs around for quite a while. Big time roasted coffee aroma and some cream too. Very thin body and not a lot going on. Some burnt coffee at the end and a little bit of sweetness. Very dry and that feeling lingers. Coffee porter gave me high hopes, but maybe I will try again in when in Florida this summer.

On tap at WDW. Poured medium-deep brown with a short cap of off-white head. The aroma was sweet and chocolatey with dry-roast to it and accents of peaty smoke.. just what I needed. The flavor didn’t come together as well.. dry-roasted black malts gave some chocolate character at the core, but not a whole lot.. faint smoke worked in its favor, as did light coffee bitterness, but both could have been more prevalent.. rather bland with black malts on the finish. Medium-bodied and dry on the palate with lower carbonation.. smelled better than it tasted.

Dark brown, shows alot of light at the edges, revealing an orangey-brown color, otherwise opaque. Served too cold in a shaker glass, but as it warmed.... Nose had alot of bittersweet chocolate, though restrained on the whole. Also featured touches of cigar tobacco, and perhaps vanilla or caramel. Flavor is mostly dry roast with a hint of iced coffee in the finish. Slight lingering ashiness. Body is rather thin. 1/3 of the way into this pint and I’ve lost interest.

On tap at Brewery. Nice dark pour. Aroma of roasted coffee. Taste was all black coffee and dark chocolate. This one was way too dry for me. Prefer more sweeter porters.

Draft at brewpub. Poured dark brown color with medium brown creamy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Medium roasted coffee and chocolate aroma. Medium to full body with a dry smoth texture. Medium flavor of roasted malt with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Solid brew.

this a porter that is a bit too thin for my interest. a little licorice in with an adequate flavor profile of chocolate malt and light hop finish. seemed the bitterness and carbonation were not quite balanced and i found that distracting. nice dark color seemed to enhance the dissapointment.
