Commercial Description:
A classic dry porter with coffee, toffee and roasty notes in both the aroma and flavor. Black in color with a refreshingly dry finish. Reminiscent of the porters of old before the days of stouts.

On tap. Pours almost black with a huge, dark brown, very stable head. The aroma on this is great. Malty, roasty, coffee, and chocolate all come through strong and balanced. The taste is similar but not nearly as strong as the aroma promised. Dry and just a bit too watery. If this would have tasted as good as it smelled this could be a real winner. As it is it’s still a pretty good porter.

On tap at Florida Brewers Guild Fest 2007. Poured deep dark brown with nice light brown head. The aroma is light and seems sort of sweet plus slight roasted maltiness. Flavor comes off a bit creamy but when I concentrate on the flavor it starts off smooth and somewhat neutral. About midway the roasted and burnt malts start to become distinct. A nice session Porter

FBG 07. Coffee malts in the nose. Well-contained smoky sweetness. Thick, dark brown, pretty white head. Chocolate malt porter taste, creamy mouthfeel. Somewhat thin and uncomplex.

Pours dark with nice brown head. Medium bodied, with hints of coffee and malt. Bitter when you first start drinking, then it disapates. My favorite beer at this brewery.

I think, by far, the best beer at OBP. Deep brown with a tan head. Robust coffee and chocolate flavors. Slightly oily palate that suits it quite well. Well-bittered on the back end. If I said that it was the best porter brewed locally, I wouldn’t be lying.

Pours dark brown, big tan head. Great very different porter, I’ve never had a dry porter it was like guiness meets a damn good dark beer. Very smooth and easy to drink, mainly a coffee and dark chocolate flavor with some hop bitterness.

Well its come out of retirement thanx to brewmaster Ed Canty and his partners at Orlando Brewery. This was fresh on tab straight out of the brewery behind the tap wall. They tell me that they are the only organic brewery in the South East. This was real good, probaly one of the best porters I have had.Poured black as night with a nice tan head.Had a medium mouthfeel with a slight silky slide to it.Roasted malts and coffe are dominant. No bitterness whats so ever.Welcome back.

The appearance is medium brown with an average head. The aroma is weak but has all that I wanted from the style. Its toasty, malty, sweet, and chocolaty. The taste is like the aroma and seems to be almost creamy. The mouth feel is approaching smooth but just a tad thin. This is quite a good session beer and is good by itself or with just about any food. Try one of these.
