Commercial Description:
A classic dry porter with coffee, toffee and roasty notes in both the aroma and flavor. Black in color with a refreshingly dry finish. Reminiscent of the porters of old before the days of stouts.

dark brown, wispy beige head, dark chocolate aroma with a touch of sweetness, rich chocolate flavor, nice sweetness brings out the chocolate and gives it a slight milk chocolate character, touch of roasted mixes with a light bitterness for a light bitter finish,

Fairly dark brown. No head. The aroma is chocolatey with a toasty accent. Soft body. Light chocolate with a fudgey accent. Finishes off-dry.

Draft... Clear, very dark (almost black) ale... burnt orange when held up to bright light Small, creamy, off-white head with decent staying power. The aroma and flavor are all about chocolate, coffee and vanilla. Lightly acidic, moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Medium-bodied and creamy with very mild carbonation. Dry, astringent finish.

Draft at brewpub. Poured dark brown color with medium brown creamy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Medium roasted coffee and chocolate aroma. Medium to full body with a dry smoth texture. Medium flavor of roasted malt with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Solid brew.

On tap at WDW. Poured medium-deep brown with a short cap of off-white head. The aroma was sweet and chocolatey with dry-roast to it and accents of peaty smoke.. just what I needed. The flavor didn’t come together as well.. dry-roasted black malts gave some chocolate character at the core, but not a whole lot.. faint smoke worked in its favor, as did light coffee bitterness, but both could have been more prevalent.. rather bland with black malts on the finish. Medium-bodied and dry on the palate with lower carbonation.. smelled better than it tasted.

I dunno how this beer is retired, as I had it on tap last week at Maui Jax in Orlando. If it isn’t, perhaps it should be. Thin han head sits atop a light black body. Aroma is roasted sewage. Taste is smooth and creamy though with some bitter chocolate. Carbonation is very low with some butterscotch. Astringent and alcohol flavors are in there. Finished the pint but wouldn’t try it again. RIP.
