Tap @ Orlando Brewing. BVC = Brewery Volunteer Corps. Every local brewery in the world couldn’t survive without the help of the volunteers. So here is the brew they were fed while they work. Made from the runoff from the Doble IPA. Here’s to the volunteer bottling crew. Pours clear yellow, white head. Aroma of corn and sour beer. Flavor is watery. Ah, the rinse water from a big IPA! Finishes with a nice hop presence. Light and boring. And most of all still better than any BMC! 30nov08.

The appearance is OK with nothing much standing out its golden with an average head. The aroma is spicy, herbal, hoppy, and vegital. Its complex but not sure if that it is good. The taste has some malt to it but its mostly like the aroma. The palate is thin. Overall I am not sure what to think of this one.

On tap @ OB...Poured amber in color w/ a white head and solid lacing. Nose that was suprisingly filled w/ malts, grains, caramel, and a tiny, tiny bit of hops. Taste was very similar lots of malts and caramel up front with a slight finish of the bitter hops. Very sessionable, but I had hoped for a much hoppier IPA.

Nice amber/orange pour with a white foamy head. Nose is ok but really not the hop jump out that you would hope for but nothing bad. Caramel malt dominates with a fair hop bitter finish. Carbonation and palate are both a bit thin. Flavor is sweet comes back with a good lingering bitter finish.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a translucent golden with a medium creamy off white head. Aroma of fresh American hops, mixed citrus, caramel and cereal grains. Flavor of caramel malt, American hops, cereal grains.

Draft sample at brewhouse. Poured a clear amber color with an average fizzy white head that was mostly lasting and had good lacing. Moderate floral sour citrus aroma. Medium body with slick texture. Medium bitter flavor with a light to medium bitter finish of moderate duration. This beer met my expectations.

Draft at the brewery. Te body is a crystal clear, light copper color. A small white head settles quickly to a thin film with a small, bubbly rim. Scattered, minimal, ribbony lacing circles the glass. The aroma is less than impressive, with cereal grains, caramel malts, and light floral hops showing through. The flavor is very bitter, with the floral hops asserting themselves over a backdrop of spent, sour caramel malts. The brew is medium bodied, finishing rather harsh and astringent. Not impressive, especially for the style.

Draft. Pours a clear copper color with a small, soapy white head. Malty aroma with some slight, flowery hops underneath. Not very hoppy smelling for an IPA. Taste is smooth, a bit watery with a clean bitter finish. This needs more hopping. It’s a nice clean taste but it needs more hop character.
