Draft sample at the brewpub. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy sour citrus aroma. Medium to full body. Medium to heavy bitter flavor with a medium to heavy bitter finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations where met with a solid brew and a standout for Orlando.

Draft at the brewery. Pours a clear, reddish brown body. A small, foamy, off-white head settles quickly to a thin film, leaving behind scattered, sudsy lacing. The aroma is sweet, showing big caramel malts and buttery toffee, followed by grassy and citrus hops with some grainy notes. The flavor follows suit, with orange and grassy hops coming through a bit stronger than the nose showed. There is a good dose of floral hop character as well, completing the hoppy counterpoint to the big caramel malts. Medium-full bodied and smooth, finishing slightly cloying from all the sweetness. Overall, not a half bad brew. Definitely one of the best offerings from this brewery, though certainly lackluster for a IIPA.

Grassy, piney, with hints of citrus in the aroma. Pours pale amber with no head. Citrus, piney, very catty, some malty sweetness. It is very hop forward, which i normally like in IIPA’s, but this one is very very catty.

Draft. A light copper colored beer with a frothy, long-lasting head. Leaves very nice lacing down the wine glass. Hoppy, floral, grapefruit aroma. Full body with a silky smooth texture. Light malt sweetness is quickly overpowered by the fruity, hoppy bitterness. Alcohol is masked very well. Dangerously good.

This is a good Double IPA. I had it on draft served in a wine glass at Orlando Brewing. Nice white head, with good bitter hop flavor. Only complaint is a bit of a bad aftertaste it left. My favorite beer of theirs.

Draft at Orlando Brewing... Clear, light amber ale with a small, creamy, white head. Malty, perfumey aroma. Hearty malt backbone, but none of the associated sweetness makes it past the generous helping of hops. Medium bitterness. Full-bodied with a creamy texture and soft carbonation. Astringent, bitter, and then dry finish.

Draft. Pours a deep copper color with a very soapy white head. Lots of thick lace down the glass with this one. Aroma is nicely balanced with a lot of malts, vanilla, and some hops underneath. Very creamy mouthfeel, well balanced with a bitter hop finish. Strong, balanced, this is really nice.

On tap at Florida Brewers Guild Fest 2007. This beer was created to honor the late John G. Doble, III, brewmaster and owner of the Tampa Bay Brewing Company and co-owner of the Brew Shack. I’m so glad I have had this opportunity to taste it.

Poured copper with nice tan head. The aroma is a good mix of citrus and slightly pine hops and roasted malts. It has a rich thick mouth feel. The taste has both sweet to semi sweet caramelized malts and grapefruit hops hitting up front. It has even grapefruit bitterness from beginning to end. The malt sweetness falls off toward the finish. Nice dangerously easy drinking IIPA.
