Golden-amber. Fruity hoppiness in the nose with lots of chewy crystal malts. Chewy body with light pineapple esters, citrus hop and too much crystal malt for my taste. OK example, but more hop less malt is my recipe.

Doble I2PA–on tap-pours a white head and copper color. Aroma is citrus hops, secondary medium malt-sweet. Taste is grapefruit, bitter citrus hops, secondary medium malt-sweet, pungent, some slick mouth feel. OK carbonation.

Draft at Orlando Brewing... Clear, light amber ale with a small, creamy, white head. Malty, perfumey aroma. Hearty malt backbone, but none of the associated sweetness makes it past the generous helping of hops. Medium bitterness. Full-bodied with a creamy texture and soft carbonation. Astringent, bitter, and then dry finish.

Draft sample at the brewpub. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy sour citrus aroma. Medium to full body. Medium to heavy bitter flavor with a medium to heavy bitter finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations where met with a solid brew and a standout for Orlando.

This is Josh Oakes recommended beer, so I had it, at the brewpub Decently crafted DIPA with hoppiness and good offsetting malt, although a bit of sourness I so detect. Average mouthfeel. Some hop aroma, decent grapefruit looking body and some lace.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a translucent amber with golden notes and a medium creamy/lacing off white head. Aroma of grapefruit, some pine, citrus, caramel and toffee. Flavor of toasted grains, toffee, caramel, grapefruit, other citrus, some pine and moderate hop bitterness.

GABF 2008. Dark amber gold, juniper and citrus aroma. Heavily malted, heavy mouthfeel, balanced by a decent hop load. Sticky syrupy mouthfeel.

On tap at Florida Brewers Guild Fest 2007. This beer was created to honor the late John G. Doble, III, brewmaster and owner of the Tampa Bay Brewing Company and co-owner of the Brew Shack. I’m so glad I have had this opportunity to taste it.

Poured copper with nice tan head. The aroma is a good mix of citrus and slightly pine hops and roasted malts. It has a rich thick mouth feel. The taste has both sweet to semi sweet caramelized malts and grapefruit hops hitting up front. It has even grapefruit bitterness from beginning to end. The malt sweetness falls off toward the finish. Nice dangerously easy drinking IIPA.
