Ibrew2or3 (2714), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA May 16, 2009 On tap at the brewpub. Pours clear deep amber with thin tan head. The aroma is roasty, mildly chocolate, sugary malts, burnt malts, a sense of biscuit malts and followed by hints of dark fruity esters. The taste is much the same with roasty to chocolate to burnt malts that really seem cohesive. By midway a mild pulse of dark fruitiness surfaces and then vanishes away as roasted malts, burnt malts and malt astringency take this to the finish. hopscotch (5440), Vero Beach, Florida, USA May 16, 2009 Draft... Clear, deep, dark mahogany ale with a small, creamy, white head. Regarding the nose, espresso, toasted nuts and chocolate cake come to the forefront. Full-bodied and creamy with ticklish carbonation. Bittersweet, mocha and metallic/tin essence. Lengthy, bittersweet, roasty finish. unclemattie (2370), Georgia, USA May 5, 2009 Tap @ Orlando Brewing. Dark brown \ black color. white head. Great lacing. Aroma of tar, licorice, and light roasted barley. Flavor is of tar, licorice, charred malts like black patent. Hints of oatmeal. Finishes with a Columbus \ Centennial hop bitterness. 30nov08. sebletitje (1880), Tampa, Florida, USA Apr 27, 2009 Tap @ brewery
pours dark brown, beige head.
Aroma is malty, chocolate, plenty of roasted malts, and cocoa.
Taste, malty, some chocolate (bitter) toasted malts, and some hops. mnurda (434), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Mar 3, 2009 Part of sample tray at the brewery. Was more impressed with the place than the beer. Still the sweet stout was the best I tried. rbrazell (57), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Feb 19, 2009 Pours a dark brown with a white head. Nose with chocolate, malt and dark fruits. Flavor same as nose but very thin mouth feel. Oakes (8058), gone rambling, Vietnam Feb 17, 2009 Dark brown. The aroma is nice - chocolate, toast and molasses. Rich, slightly syrupy/molassesy taste with French roast coffee. Nice moreish finish with a hint of burnt malt acidity. Beershine (2678), Hue, Vietnam Feb 15, 2009 Sample @ brewery taproom. Clearer than the porter, more see-through. Roch roasty aroma is mocha and relatively sweet. The toasty flavors are balanced by a pure malt sweetness. A nice brew.
