Dark fruit and anise on the nose. Pours a dark brown black in the center of the glass. Good licorice flavors and roastiness with hints of chocolate but just a little too thin. nick76 (2678), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Dec 6, 2008 The aroma is very weak for a stout. Its got toast, nuts, coffee, hops, and malt but not enough. The appearance is medium brown with an average head. The taste is like the aroma and astringently bitter. The palate is way to thin for the style. Overall this is a weak stout that doesnt satisfy. Its watery. Palidor19 (1785), Brandon, Florida, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 16, 2008 Had on tap at brewery. Dark pour with creamy head. Smell was all chocolate as was flavor. Chocolate and roasted coffee beans. Not nearly as sweet as I would have liked. But a decent and very drinkable stout. Beerlando (2347), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 20, 2008 Draft at GOBF ’08. Pours pretty translucent and dark brown in color. A foamy beige head crowns the brew. Aromas are heavily roasted and simple, with roasted barley, coffee, and chocolate being all that are really detectable. Flavors continue the roasty theme. Aside from some earthy hops, the choco-coffee, grainy roast dominate this beer, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Light caramel notes add a touch of sweetness, but not enough to qualify this as anything other than a regular stout. Medium bodied, as the appearance would suggest. Easy drinking. This was a pleasant surprise.....its a pretty decent brew. fishingnet (1047), Brandon, Florida, USA
