Dark brown. The aroma is nice - chocolate, toast and molasses. Rich, slightly syrupy/molassesy taste with French roast coffee. Nice moreish finish with a hint of burnt malt acidity.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours clear deep amber with thin tan head. The aroma is roasty, mildly chocolate, sugary malts, burnt malts, a sense of biscuit malts and followed by hints of dark fruity esters. The taste is much the same with roasty to chocolate to burnt malts that really seem cohesive. By midway a mild pulse of dark fruitiness surfaces and then vanishes away as roasted malts, burnt malts and malt astringency take this to the finish.

Tap @ Orlando Brewing. Dark brown \ black color. white head. Great lacing. Aroma of tar, licorice, and light roasted barley. Flavor is of tar, licorice, charred malts like black patent. Hints of oatmeal. Finishes with a Columbus \ Centennial hop bitterness. 30nov08.

Draft at GOBF ’08. Pours pretty translucent and dark brown in color. A foamy beige head crowns the brew. Aromas are heavily roasted and simple, with roasted barley, coffee, and chocolate being all that are really detectable. Flavors continue the roasty theme. Aside from some earthy hops, the choco-coffee, grainy roast dominate this beer, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Light caramel notes add a touch of sweetness, but not enough to qualify this as anything other than a regular stout. Medium bodied, as the appearance would suggest. Easy drinking. This was a pleasant surprise.....its a pretty decent brew.

Sample @ brewery taproom. Clearer than the porter, more see-through. Roch roasty aroma is mocha and relatively sweet. The toasty flavors are balanced by a pure malt sweetness. A nice brew.

Draft... Clear, deep, dark mahogany ale with a small, creamy, white head. Regarding the nose, espresso, toasted nuts and chocolate cake come to the forefront. Full-bodied and creamy with ticklish carbonation. Bittersweet, mocha and metallic/tin essence. Lengthy, bittersweet, roasty finish.

Pours black, with a small,. light off tan head. Smells of some pretty roasty malts, a little light chocolate, nothing too profound or prominent in the aroma. The flavor was a bit sweet, which I was expecting because of the nose, with good doses of vanilla cream and chocolate. A little toasty toffee flavor came through in the finish. Medium bodied, yet smooth mouthfeel. Lightly bitter aftertaste. Decent enough brew from these guys.

Tap. Pours dark brown with a one finger tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, and a hint of chocolate. Taste is the same as aroma with hint of caramel. Medium mouthfeel with a mild to moderate amount of bitterness. Very good
