Commercial Description:
Orlando Brewing’s first lager is a big hit! European Pilz is a light-bodied yet flavorful beer created in the traditional pilsener style. Like all our beers, it is hand-crafted by brewmaster Ed Canty right here on the premises. Have a pint! It’s the best way to cool down as we enter the dog days of summer

OTH tasting 09/06/08 courtesy of the slimbeerdrinker, thanks Bethany. Pours clear gold with zero head. The aroma is sweet malts, pilsner like malts, mild floral hops and grainish malts. The taste is grainy and carries floral hops and spicy hop bitterness to go along with sweet malts. Very tasty pilz. Yum! I love the way the different malty notes blend and mix with a mild background of hops adding balance. This is one of the better brews I’ve had to date from Orlando Brewing.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a translucent golden with a large fog white head that laced. Aroma of mixed citrus, cereal grains, lots of nice floral/spicy hop notes and very fruity. Flavor of hops, cereal grains, good bit of hop bitterness, some grapefruity character. A nice hoppy pilsner.

Tap @ brewery pours light copper, white head. Aroma of floral hops. Taste, reminded me of a fresh green tea leaves, some hops and fruits and thin malty presence. Mouthfeel keeps an interesting herbal, citrus/floral profile. Sweet and actually a fine taste pilsener. Really enjoyed that one, stayed away from the nasty metalic taste of many pilsener.

At OB. Gold with hints of red. Nose of hops and malt. A hoppy malty beer that is semi sweet. Solid palate and good carbonation. Very soldi beer with a very good hop profile that leads to a very good bitter finish.

Draft at the brewery. Dark gold pour with a thin white head. Light hop velvety malt aroma. A good malty taste, solid body with a lot of hops for a pilsener. Leaves a slight bitter finish. One of the better offerings from the brewery.

Draft at the brewery. Pours a clear, medium gold body with a wispy, thin, pure white film. A thin, foamy edge leaves behind minimal amounts of spotty lacing. The aroma shows very light caramel malts, cream, bready yeast, a drop of lemon, and a surprising amount of floral hops. The flavor started out sweet and biscuity, with a good amount of lemon chiffon character and a nice dose of floral, slightly peppery hops. Medium-light bodied and smooth, this would be a nice session brew on a hot day. I’m starting to think that Orlando Brewing does lagers better than it does ales, as this one and the Doppelbock were the most impressive brews within their styles.
