satan165 (539), River Grove, Illinois, USA Sep 8, 2009 super subtle aroma of bare bones malt. thin mouthfeel. yellow body. flavor is of light nuttiness and watery brown malt sweetness. carb lacing and head are nil. jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA May 26, 2009 on tap-pours an offwhite head with amber color. Aroma is sweet light/medium malt, some nut. Taste is sweet light/medium malt, some nut, yeast, earthy hops. Ibrew2or3 (2714), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA May 16, 2009 On tap at the brewpub. Pours deep gold with off white head and spotty lacing. The aroma is butterscotch then some sweet malts and cherries. The taste has sweet malts, sugar, butterscotch and cherry dark ester fruitiness. It ends with some caramel, sweetness, more butterscotch and a slightly unsatisfactory finish. hopscotch (5437), Vero Beach, Florida, USA May 16, 2009 Draft... Clear golden lager with a small, fizzy, white head. Like most of their beers, the nose on this one was very subtle, but I was finally able to pull some notations of sweet toffee and brittle (sans the nuts). Full-bodied and sticky with tingly carbonation. Sweet, grainy flavor with mild bitterness. Toffee, biscuit and/or sugar cookie both in the flavor and finish. A pretty darned good take on the Maibock style. sebletitje (1880), Tampa, Florida, USA Apr 27, 2009 Tap @ the brewery.
Pours copper, white head.
Aroma hoppy with some fruits. bready malts.
Taste was similar, light in body, some chocolate / caramel notes. Cookie dough / bready mouthfeel with some malts and hops. Beerlando (2280), Orlando, Florida, USA Apr 26, 2008 Draft at The Ravenous Pig. Pours a clear, dark golden-orange. A small, foamy, off-white rim is all that shows for a head. Virtually no lacing noted. The aroma shows a toasted, grainy, wheat cereal background. Faint nutmeg and cinamon spice add a touch of complexity. Flavors are sweet, with toasted caramel and glazed biscuit dominating. There is a faint, spicy, floral hop note, as well as a touch of vanilla and perhaps even a bit of ginger. Medium-full bodied, sweet, and slightly sticky. Sits pretty heavy. Maibock is not a style that I’m crazy about, but this is a decent brew if you’re in the mood.
