Commercial Description:
An All-American beer. American made malts, zesty American grown hops and the American ale yeast clearly identify this beer as homegrown. Refreshingly hoppy, pale yet tan and complex maltiness epitomize what Tanlines has brought to the American beer culture. Crisp, clean, sassy and complex, American ale at it finest.

Bottle poured caramel with a huge thick white foamy head. Yeasty, metalic, bitter aroma and flavor. Tangy bitter finish. The only thing going for this beer was the head and label

Trade with Degarth

Nice marketing on the bottle with the babe sitting on the beach. But aroma was of an aluminum can and was over bitter for me anyway. Murky copper color body with big white foamy head.

Small tan head, fair retention and some stringy lace. Clear copper color, a bit dark for an APA. I like that though. Nose is faint citrus, a touch grassy. Body is light/med, nice carbonation, gentle and tingly. Lightly sweet malts, a bit toasty, caramel, citrusy hops, pineapple with a light fruitiness. Dry, fruity finish. Thanks Degarth!

Pours a lightly hazy full copper-red color and is topped by a thin pale tan colored head. The aroma has notes of citrus and a note of pine that comes to dominate the aroma. There is some other weird aromatic note that I cannot quite place. The taste is lightly sweet up front with a sharp hop note that carries through to the finish of the beer. There is a definite citrus note here, but as in the aroma, the pine character from the hops is the most noticeable aspect. The maltiness shows up in a light caramel character and a hint of toasted malt notes in the finish. This is definitely a nice example of a pale ale, no off flavors at all, but it seems to be missing that bit of something that would make it a great pale ale. It is quite tasty and enjoyable and I would be happy to drink a couple pints of this beer.

12 oz bottle via trade with Degarth - Thanks Joe! - Pours copper with a short white head that faded fairly quick. Aroma of apricot and grapefruit and a bit of caramel. Flavor is dominated by the bitterness of the hops. A bit of the caramel gets through but this is sour like a sweet tart. Palate is quite thin but this is drinkable. Unbalanced but drinkable. Unique to say the least.

Not what I was expecting. With a name like "Tanlines" I was expecting a brown ale. Not so. What first made me realize I might be wrong was the rich amber color. If that wasn’t enough, I was struck by the upfront bitterness of the hops, which dominated the flavor throughout the serving. Slightly thin but still quite good.

Hey not too bad really. I expected much worse. Aroma of citrus and piney hops. Copper body with a medium size head. Decent hop profile and while one dimensional flavor wise (hop and light caramel malt are really the only flavor) it’s still drinkable if thin.
