kiefdog (1534), Tampa, Florida, USA Sep 15, 2009 12oz bottle from Whole Foods (Tampa, FL). Pours a generally clear amber color with reddish highlights and thin white head. Aroma is sweet and malty with notes of earth, nuts, caramel, honey, light roast, some hints of chocolate. Flavor is sweet and malty with notes of light roast, chocolate, caramel, nuts, hints of honey and hints of toffee. Generally light to medium body with a malty finish. ucfknightscott (46), Casselberry, Florida, USA Jun 3, 2009 Pours a rootbeer brown with a thin white head. Aroma is small but catching roasted malt and bit of caramel. Drinks pretty smooth, a typical brown ale, nothing spectacular. Definetly a beginner brown ale. Living in the Orlando area, I wish my local brewery would get more adventurous and stop simply putting out every style of beer there is, without making them great. I’d rather see them concentrate on a few styles and make them spectacular than trying to brew a full portfolio. Ibrew2or3 (2714), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA May 16, 2009 On tap at the brewpub. Pours clear deep copper to amber with thin tan head. The aroma is mildly roasty, caramel and cookie dough to go along with a modest note of toffee. The taste starts with a modest amount of roasted malts and a hint of astringency. By midway I get a pleasing mix of caramel, faint cherry and sweet berry notes joining the malt roastiness. unclemattie (2370), Georgia, USA May 5, 2009 Tap @ Orlando Brewing. Medium brown color. Toasted grain aroma. Flavor is rich, toasted, malt characteristic is full. Well balanced. Finishes with toast ans a light hop bite. 30nov08. jkaiser (212), Orlando, Florida, USA Apr 27, 2009 This brown ale was lite in all senses of the word. Body, aroma, taste, hops. Not for anyone but a beginner to brown ales. sebletitje (1880), Tampa, Florida, USA Apr 27, 2009 Tap @ brewery
pours amber, white head.
Aroma had once again this bready / dough cookie aroma and home yeast strain. It complements the beer but becomes very noticeable in all of their beers.
Light caramel notes malts.
Taste, some berries, light caramel, thin bitter mouthfeel with again thus buttery dough palate. desurfer (1067), Pinellas Park, Florida, USA Mar 28, 2009 Draft at Raglan Road in Downtown Disney. Pours a deep brown with a big bubbly head. Aroma is nutty and sweet. Earthy malts in the flavor, balanced by a mild hoppiness; some roasted notes as well. Pretty good quaffer on a warm afternoon after walking all day. Oakes (8057), gone rambling, Vietnam Feb 17, 2009 Bright chestnut brown. Nice lacing. Toasty with light chocolate notes. Creamy body with some toastiness. The finish is leaning towards dryness. Decent brown.
Unfiltered This is a little darker, but just as bright. Creamier and huskier. It has less toast and hop character, both muted a bit by the yeast. It definitely loses something. 4-5-5-3-11 = 2.8
