Commercial Description:
An exceptionally smooth yet satisfying,non-bitter brown ale. The rich aroma & flavor complexity is credited from the blending of over 6 various malts. The imported British hops, minerally enhanced brewing water, and special strain of British yeasts lends itself to this legendary style of beer.

Bright chestnut brown. Nice lacing. Toasty with light chocolate notes. Creamy body with some toastiness. The finish is leaning towards dryness. Decent brown.

Unfiltered
This is a little darker, but just as bright. Creamier and huskier. It has less toast and hop character, both muted a bit by the yeast. It definitely loses something. 4-5-5-3-11 = 2.8

Draft… Clear copper ale with a small, creamy, white head. Decent retention. The aroma is very chocolaty with some light butter and toffee notes. Malty-sweet, rich, chocolaty flavor with English-type hops to keep the malts acceptably restrained. Medium-bodied and lightly creamy with prickly carbonation. Finishes chocolaty and mildly sweet. Much better than expected.

Draft sample at the brewpub. Poured clear brown color with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate toasted malt and nuts aroma. Medium body. Medium toasted bittersweet flavor with an average smooth sweet finish of moderate duration. Drinkable brew.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a brownish amber with a medium creamy off white head. Aroma of toasted malt, nuts, some cities notes. Flavor of nuts, caramel, toasted malt and some citrus notes from the hops.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours clear deep copper to amber with thin tan head. The aroma is mildly roasty, caramel and cookie dough to go along with a modest note of toffee. The taste starts with a modest amount of roasted malts and a hint of astringency. By midway I get a pleasing mix of caramel, faint cherry and sweet berry notes joining the malt roastiness.

Sample at brewery taproom. Had both a filtered and unfiltered version. Rating reflects filtered version. Filtered version: Dark coppery brown with lacing. Rich chocolate malts are inviting, with cocoa aromas. Medium carbonation and a nice soft palate. Thin finish but before that, has a nice roasted chocolate malt pureness. Unfiltered version:Bright coppery brown with more lacing than the filtered version. Same chocolate malt aroma with a little extra yeast kick. Nice palate is softer than the filtered version. Really nice sweetness from the malt. Toastiness is nice, pure, and bready. I even detect some smokiness, like smoked figs. 4-6-4-7-14
