Muddy chestnut colour. Has some nice chocolate notes in the aroma alongside hints of pecan, caramelized apple and brown sugar. Soft body with light fruit and brown sugar. A little bit earthy towards the finish.

Draft... Clear copper lager with a large, frothy, white head. Sticky lacing. The nose is malty, a touch vinous and very mildly medicinal. Full-bodied with a lightly syrupy mouthfeel and lax carbonation. Sweet caramel and praline in the flavor. Also, hints at chocolate, but not a whole lot. Lengthy, bittersweet finish – bitterness is a bit metallic and lingers longer.

on tap-pours a patchy light tan head and copper color. Aroma is sweet medium malt, fruit-plum/cherry. Taste is alcohol first, then yields to some bitter hops, sweet medium malt, fruit-plum/cherry. Slightly gritty mouth feel. Medium body. An OK beer.

Draft sample at the brewpub. Poured clear dark brown color with an average creamy light brown head that was mostky lasting with good lacing. Moderate sweet fruity malty aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture. Solid bittersweet malty flavor with an average smooth bittersweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a translucent brownish amber with a smaller creamy off white head that left some lacing. Aroma of molasses, fresh hops, pretzels, cereal grains. Flavors of the same.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours clear amber with copper edges and tan head. The aroma is syrupy sweet with cherry, roasted malts and molasses. The taste is smooth and sweet heading to syrupy with notes of cherries, malt roastiness and a robust level of syrupy sweet malts and a sense of molasses. Nice finish on this brew with lingering roastiness and fading syrupy sweetness.

Sample @ brewery taproom. Luminescent hazy not quite garnet color, no head. Sweet aroma has more fruity esters than the weiss, banana and some spice too. Soft carbonation, thick palate. A little burnt, for a DB especially. Lingering burnt finish dominates the flavors but is nicely dry and malty.

Draft at the brewery. Pours a clear, dark reddish amber body with a small, foamy, off-white head. Thin, snake like lacing decorates the glass. The aroma is very fruity, with strong notes of plums and figs coming through. Dark caramel compliments the dark fruits well, with hints of chocolate and mild floral hops showing on a deep inhale. The flavor follows suit well, with caramel malts providing a nice backdrop for the plum and fig notes. Floral hops add a nice balance to the taste. Medium bodied and smooth. This is a very enjoyable beer. Certainly one of the best that this brewery has to offer.
