On tap at the brewpub. Pours clear amber with copper edges and tan head. The aroma is syrupy sweet with cherry, roasted malts and molasses. The taste is smooth and sweet heading to syrupy with notes of cherries, malt roastiness and a robust level of syrupy sweet malts and a sense of molasses. Nice finish on this brew with lingering roastiness and fading syrupy sweetness.

quality doppelback this brew is slick it is nutty and it is sweet. it goes down quite good and has an alcohol level that is surely around 8%. the alcohol is not at all harsh so please do not let that deter you. a touch of plum and fig rounds it out well. gives it a mild brandy quality to it.

Tap @ brewery pours amber/copper with beige head. Aroma is bready crust, some caramel and malts. Taste, caramel, sugary, some dark fruits - cherry/plums - brown sugar, leaving light stickiness on the lips.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a translucent brownish amber with a smaller creamy off white head that left some lacing. Aroma of molasses, fresh hops, pretzels, cereal grains. Flavors of the same.

Draft at the brewery. Pours a clear, dark reddish amber body with a small, foamy, off-white head. Thin, snake like lacing decorates the glass. The aroma is very fruity, with strong notes of plums and figs coming through. Dark caramel compliments the dark fruits well, with hints of chocolate and mild floral hops showing on a deep inhale. The flavor follows suit well, with caramel malts providing a nice backdrop for the plum and fig notes. Floral hops add a nice balance to the taste. Medium bodied and smooth. This is a very enjoyable beer. Certainly one of the best that this brewery has to offer.

On tap @ OB...Poured a caramel brown w/ a tan head that left some lacing. Huge amounts of sweetness on the nose...syrup, malts, caramel, some grains. Flavors of caramel, dark fruits, and malts. Thick on the palate w/ a descent amount of carbonation. Very solid offering from OB.

This beer seemed strong near the end of my visit at the brewery. Cool label. Great friendly people working and visiting the place. This beer seemed medium bodied with a good amount of malt. I like this doppelbock.

Draft sample at the brewpub. Poured clear dark brown color with an average creamy light brown head that was mostky lasting with good lacing. Moderate sweet fruity malty aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture. Solid bittersweet malty flavor with an average smooth bittersweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.
