12oz bottle. nice chocolate and malt aroma. small, almost nonexistent head. the taste is very light and nothing really stands out.

Aug 20, 2008 Bottle. Pours a very deep ruby with an average size diminishing beige head. Aroma of toasted caramel malt, light chocolate, a hint of peat, nuts and some lightly sour coffee (it makes sense to me). Slightly watery flavour of lightly roasted malt with notes of coffee & chocolate, some peat and nuts -- all light, mild and mellow -- not bad at all. Light to average bodied. It’s alright, it needs more body and a bit more flavour but it’s drinkable and I’d drink it again.

Aug 17, 2008 Bottle purchased at a beer store in Portsmouth, NH--Poured a brown-black body with a thickish off-white creamy head. Nutty, chewy, roasty, gripping body. Calm, clean and highly palatable with a mild chocolate finish. Nice beer.

Aug 12, 2008 Dark brown, moderate head. Aroma is malty, sweet, and some chocolate too. Flavor is sweet and malty with some hints of sweet chocolate. No hops to speak of. I find this beer is a bit underrated in my opinion.

Jun 20, 2008 Nutty and slight medicine aroma. Dark amber color with a small brown head. Thick palate in the beginning with a light sweet chocolate finish.

Apr 28, 2008 Another solid session brew from the Hat. Tap at Blind Tiger. Short head on the poor. Big chewy roast, chalk, peanut britle. Flavor is similar, clean, a touch of sweet, great roast, good lager qualities, very drinkable.
