Commercial Description:
In contrast to all the others, the Orval Trappist brewery makes only one beer for the general public. It has an intensely aromatic and dry character. Between the first and second fermentations there is also an additional dry-hopping process. Through this the beer acquires its pronounced hoppy aroma and extra dry taste.

Very unique with its spicing, freshly fruity and yeasty and acidic. The perfume like smell is something I find hard to forget. Great trappist.

Pours a beautiful cloudy amber-gold, with a nice white head that seems a bit yellowish in some lights. Dry taste, feels sort of bubbly in the mouth. Citrud notes quite prominent. Dry finish. I’ll be getting more soon.

Sour, herbal notes on the nose. Pours slightly hazy, golden-amber with a frothy thick white head. Flavor; Bless the monks that make this beer. Refreshing, wonderfully light champagne like texture. A classic!

I am shocked that some give this beer less than a five on appearance!!! What more can one ask for??? Blood orange body topped with a lemon meringue head. Peaks and valleys that make the Rocky Mountains and Grand Canyon jealous. Very complex flavors of yeast, barnyard, brett, and citrus. Aroma is that of a wet blanket. I really did enjoy this...but have a hard time figuring out why some hold it in such high regard. To each their own...I just enjoy exploring something new!!!

Bottle. Pours hazy golden with thick fluffy off-white head. Aroma is complex fruity and yeasty. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Flavour is complex with bread, pepper, spice, fruit and caramel but dominated by bitterness. For me this was rather a harsh bitterness and whilst very interesting it didn’t quite work.

bottle 330 ml. Overall, a rather strange beer. Very strong, beautiful olive scent. The taste is very complex, fading very slowly to bitter dryness. While very interesting, I don’t think this is the beer for me--just too strong of a flavor with too much dry/bitterness.

bottle330ml at OpusK Lohja 7,5€ bottled 11/02/2008 served in own glass Color:amber nice tight head &lace Taste:ice cold at first. First sip bitter as I assumed previous tasting. Then fizzy and strong hops staying in the mouth. Pleasant aftertaste. It would be nice taste this patch ten years later

Bottle, Pours Orange amber with a tall white head. Fruity sourish aroma and a unique flavour of spices and a light sourness, that is more interesting than actually tasty on my tongue.
