gonzo46and2 (108), Tampa, Florida, USA May 30, 2008 Got this one at Tank’s Taproom in Tampa. Pours a dark orange with a huge frothy head that lasts all night. Huge noseful of dark fruity esters. Tastes like raisin, plum, and is overall very sweet with a slight alchoholic finish. Great dessert beer.
EFC1878 (134), Manchester, Greater Manchester, England Nov 29, 2008 Cloudy orange coloured with very lively off white head. Almost looks like a wheat beer. Very orangy-citrus nose with lots of yeast and a hit of scrumpy apple. Words truly fail me in my pathetic attempt to describe the incredible complex and subtle interplay of flavours - the full range of citrus from grapefruit through lemon and hints of lime to orange, both sweet and bitter; grainy malt perfectly balanced by a complex hop character; hints of vanilla at the edges. Perfect carbonation makes it lively on the palate. I can’t do this beer justice - it is an absolute delight from start to finish. kpresley77 (110), Jackson, Georgia, USA Nov 27, 2008 Bottle pours hazy orange/copper with thick off white head. Aroma is sweet citrus. First taste is slight sweetness, then a citrus bitterness balances out very well. Very high carbonation and watery mouthfeel. Unlike other belgians I have had but very good. Kind of like a belgian wit but no yeast or bread aromas or flavors. Better than the westy blond. Travlr (115), Washington, Washington DC, USA Nov 27, 2008 A unique Trappist with an orange/amber color, lacy white head, and tastes of citrus/orange and coriander. Medium mouth. Good bitter finish. Mellows slightly with age if kept well. Very nice. guyinchicago (276), marengo, Illinois, USA Nov 27, 2008 bottle bottlled on 2-20-08 poured a hazy orange with brownish hue thick off white haed, with aromas of spice, grains, hops, bananas and flowers taste of bread, pepper ciotrus, corrinder and alcohol bitter not to sweet of a finish very good trap Wasatch (187), Layton, Utah, USA Nov 27, 2008 Pours a cloudy orange/yellow color, nice carbonation, huge foamy head, tons of lacing throughout the drink. Scents of hops, malts, somekind of citrus, floral. The taste is alittle bitter, and sourery, hard to describe really. Medium body. This is a very nice brew, my first Belgian Pale Ale I believe, so really nothing to compare to, but it’s totally different than other Belgian’s I’ve had. Would recommend for sure.
