Bourbon on the nose, with some sweet malts. The flavor has bourbon, vanilla, and some sweet malts. Doesn’t seem to have the same balance as the other Oskar Blues barrel aged beers. Still decent. Taste is very whiskey, with more oak and vanilla, along with the malt goodness from the regular chub. That said, this doesn’t resemble the chub; the whiskey barrels really change it. Mouth is smooth and creamy. Very nice brew. ATLBeerDog (280), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Smells only of bourbon – no other aromas are detectible. First sip is all whiskey, with a sweet malty finish that is pure heaven. Milky like lacing clings heavily to the glass. This beer lost a ton of carbonation in the barrel aging process. As with other Barrel aged beers, the alcohol taste is a whole lot more apparent than the ABV of 8% would indicate. Very Nice! unclemattie (2427), Georgia, USA

draft @ bsp. Thick dark brown, tan head. Aroma of sweet vanilla. Big hints of bourbon. Nice oak on top of dark roasted malts. Almost the smell of new car, but better. Flavor o f chocolate, vanilla, oak , bourbon oakey, wood sweet goodness. Why can not ths be canned. I want to make vicious love to this. Delicous and mindblowing. Why can’t all bourbon aged beers be this orgasmic? Smooth and creamy. Lots of vanilla flavors. tastes nothing like Old Chub, lots of oak and vanilla. Chub is well hidden with lots of notes of bourbon. Woo ha. 8,5,6,5,15 BeerandBlues2 (3225), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
