Commercial Description:
Brewed with hefty amounts of European malts and four kinds of American hops, it delivers a blast of hop aromas, a rich middle of malt and hops, and a thrilling finish. It weighs in at 6.5 % alcohol by volume. Why squeeze such a big brew into a little can? Because we think fun in the great outdoors calls for great beer. Our cans go where bottled beers can't, where flavorless canned beers don't belong. And no matter where you drink Dale's Pale Ale, our can protect it from light and oxidation far better than bottles do.

Northern Brewer for bittering, Cascade and Columbus for flavor, and a big, post-boil addition of Centennial for aroma.

Can from Cracked Kettle. Nice amber body with lasting head. Hoppy nose with pine notes. Strong grapefruit taste of hops, then warms with malty finish. Really nice combination. Another excellent production out of a can. Hats off.

Nice dark golden honey color. Good, thick tan head with excellent retention and excellent lacing, to boot. Big pine resin presence in the nose. A little bit of grapefruitey/citrusey notes. A nice wheat smell. Decent malt appearance, here, suprisingly. Slight sweet breads. Breakfast rolls laced with caramel, sitting in a small pine tree. Hops presence is here, though not as over-dominating as I’d imagined from the nose. Kiss of citrus/grapefruit. Nice touches of floral notes. Some very nice malt sweetness, for a tiny bit of balance. Clean, crisp carbonation level. Feels more akin to a DIPA than an APA, to me, but that’s not a complaint. Nice and smooth and a good level of creaminess. Drinkability is very good. Hops are not my thing, in general, so I’d purchase other things more frequently than this. Although I would gladly put this one into the purchasing rotation schedule.

the most beuatiful, fluffy head I have ever seen on a non-cask beer. This beautiful marshmallowy cloud lasts almost as long as your beer does. It is very malty and sweet. Perfect balance of sweet, bitter, and malty body. Hardly pale, this guy really coats your mouth with a sting. aroma is a little minty, too. Can at Abraxas, Miami Beach.

This is a prety good, but rather thin, standard, grapefruity pale ale that does not do much for me. It’s pale amber with a medium ,off-white head that shrinks slowly to a foamy ring. The aroma is grapefruit, grape, and raisin, with hints of pine and bread crust. The taste is grapefruit up front with syrupy grape and grain. It’s light on flavour and complexity and is mostly sweet, along with some faint, thin fruit and a hint of piney-leafiness. It’s a bit too sweet up front while the finish is a little too bitter. Bitterness lingers too much afterwards. It’s fairly full-bodied in feel and has well-rounded range of elements while it’s not truly overly bitter but the elements aren’t well integrated or balanced. Ultimtately, it’s somewhat one-dimensional and bland.

What a wonderful pale ale. Nice amber color, wonderful head. Flowery hop aroma with some pine, caramel and fruit. Flavor is wonderful. Some smooth floral hops mixed with a just slightly more than subtle bitter, then you notice a nice malt caramel sweetness that carries into a smooth finish that feels all around balanced. A fantastic pale ale. Plenty of hop kick. Smooth palate, not over the top but very nice bitter - wonderful malt to back it up. Terrific.

Superb flavor profile, excellent hop aromas and flavor, nice alcohol level and plenty of malty backbone make for a very well balanced and tasty pale ale. The extra bit of alcohol kick and malt sweetness push this one above the classic standard of Sierra Nevada. Also the Northern Brewer bittering addition adds to the drinkability of this pale ale, it definitely features a smooth bitterness and a light golden caramel sweetness. Crack open a can and pour it into a glass, smash the can on your forehead and enjoy the rest.

pours a nice warm amber with full white head that lingers. aroma is big hops. floral and pine with some bitter citrus and just a bit of metal. flavor is really nice and bitter hop right off the bat with a solid caramel sweet malt and then a big bite of bitter citrus hops. finishes bitter with a nice floral hop lasting a while. very good brew. metal was only on the nose, maybe my imagination.
