Pours a clear, deep amber with a one finger, tan, rocky head that has great retention and leaves spotty lacing. Aroma is caramel malt, maple syrup, raw hops cones. Taste is a little cardboardy with a giant wallop of piney hops and not too much malt backing- verging on unbalanced. Very long, bitter finish. Best pale ale I’ve tried save for All Other Pale. 6.5% is well hidden but makes itself apparent after a little while. Definitely a serious pale ale. Highly recommended. Absolutely by far "thee" best beer I’ve ever had in a can. And this Pale Ale can challange anything in a bottle...not that it has to be in a bottle to be good. Definitely glass worthy...nice amber pour...frothy off-white head...smooth mouthfeel...nice hop character and malt balance...this is a staple in my fridge...goes in that cool can rack on the door! msante79 (814), Orland Hills, Illinois, USA

A delightfully surprising pale ale, get ready to get punched in the face with some hops! A creamy mouthfeel with a somewhat acidic finish, this pale ale is hoppy through and through. Aroma, flavor, aftertaste, etc. Wonderful for a hot day, this pale ale is great with a meal, a cigar, or anything you’re doing. Well done. Uglyradio (775), Greenville, South Carolina, USA

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/20 | Jun 29, 2009 Citrus and pine hop aroma. Slightly cloudy orange pour. Small head, some lacing, good carbonation. Too heavy on the hops for my tastes... I have difficulty enjoying more than a few sips of such bitter hoppiness. Definitely an IPA flavor, I’d say. vtafro (469), , New Jersey, USA
