beerandIT (177), Richmond, Virginia, USA Jun 17, 2009 Wow what a pale ale! Poured this one out of the can and into a pint glass. Although just as enjoyable for me from the can on a hot summers day. On the nose I get nice strong hops upfront with slight malt in there. Almost like an IPA. Medium bodied. A big american pale ale! Mouthfeel is great very smooth. On the palate I am getting a nice bitter hop flavor, slight malts, some citrus and floral notes there. Just an awesome APA. Widely availalbe and not a bad price either, especially for the 12 packs! Get it! nerdrocker101 (102), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Jun 17, 2009 Not the first thing to amaze me by Oskar Blues, but it still amazes me to taste something so good come out of a can. Pours a hazy golden with a mild foamy white head. Nice hoppy aroma with a touch of malt. Medium body with a nice balance of sweet malts and citrus hops finished by a nice hoppy bite. This is what I’m taking pool side obxdude10 (1546), Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 16, 2009 I heard a lot about this beer from numerous sites around the Web, so I decided to give an entire case of 12oz cans a try. This is definitely one of the more solid APAs I’ve found, especially more recently. This pale ale pours a semi-cloudy golden color with an average-sized white head. The head left a generous amount of lacing around the glass. The nose features a big hop presence, along with notes of caramel, bread, grass, earth and wood. The body is medium in strength, but extremely smooth and drinkable. The flavors consist of a big hop profile, but is balanced nicely with a solid caramel malt backbone. The body also features a huge amount of grapefruit and pine. The finish is quite bitter and a little dry. It also features a little fruity flavor, as well as some grapefruit and pine. Overall, this is a very nicely done and delicious APA. I’m glad I have an entire case of this to enjoy! JaBier (1130), Capital City, Ohio, USA Jun 16, 2009 12oz can. Semi-opaque orange/amber pour with a big beige head. Sweet malt aroma with some floral hops and notes of bread. Sweet and bready malt flavor up front with a bitter hop finish. Dogbrick (2807), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jun 12, 2009 Thanks to Homerwants beer for sharing a couple cans. This brew is an orange-amber color with a medium thin off-white head that dissipates quickly. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops and citrus along with a touch of malt. Medium body with flavors of floral hops, fresh citrus and clean malt. The finish is moderately bitter hops that linger for awhile atop a decent malt base. A good straightforward APA overall. Elwood (647), Leesburg, Virginia, USA Jun 8, 2009 12 oz. can. Pours a hazy, orangish brown with a small, white head. Sweet malt, a touch of pine, honey, and an odor I just can’t quite place in the nose. Medium carbonation with a medium-rich mouthfeel. Sweet malt, honey, caramel, pine, and a touch of resin on the palate. Good balance between malt sweetness and hop bitterness. Medium-short finish with some lingering bitterness. Overall an excellent pale ale that isn’t over hopped. 14thStreet (3), Atlanta, Georgia, USA does not count Jun 8, 2009 Nice surprise from Lyons. Worth exploring further. Although prefer the Pils. joebudzjoe (222), Connecticut, USA Jun 6, 2009 Probably one of my favorite pale ales. Great sweet tart of hop and malt balance. Almost orange body. A good ol’ reliable.
