Pours a hazy golden with a mild foamy white head. Nice hoppy aroma with a touch of malt. Medium body with a nice balance of sweet malts and citrus hops finished by a nice hoppy bite. | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jun 16, 2009 I heard a lot about this beer from numerous sites around the Web, so I decided to give an entire case of 12oz cans a try. This is definitely one of the more solid APAs I’ve found, especially more recently. This pale ale pours a semi-cloudy golden color with an average-sized white head. The head left a generous amount of lacing around the glass. The nose features a big hop presence, along with notes of caramel, bread, grass, earth and wood. The body is medium in strength, but extremely smooth and drinkable. The flavors consist of a big hop profile, but is balanced nicely with a solid caramel malt backbone. The body also features a huge amount of grapefruit and pine. The finish is quite bitter and a little dry. It also features a little fruity flavor, as well as some grapefruit and pine. Overall, this is a very nicely done and delicious APA. I’m glad I have an entire case of this to enjoy! JaBier (1182), Capital City, Ohio, USA

This brew is an orange-amber color with a medium thin off-white head that dissipates quickly. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops and citrus along with a touch of malt. Medium body with flavors of floral hops, fresh citrus and clean malt. The finish is moderately bitter hops that linger for awhile atop a decent malt base. A good straightforward APA overall. Sweet malt, a touch of pine, honey, and an odor I just can’t quite place in the nose. Medium carbonation with a medium-rich mouthfeel. Sweet malt, honey, caramel, pine, and a touch of resin on the palate. Good balance between malt sweetness and hop bitterness. Medium-short finish with some lingering bitterness. Overall an excellent pale ale that isn’t over hopped. 14thStreet (3), Atlanta, Georgia, USA does not count | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 8, 2009 Nice surprise from Lyons.
