Commercial Description:
Brewed with hefty amounts of European malts and four kinds of American hops, it delivers a blast of hop aromas, a rich middle of malt and hops, and a thrilling finish. It weighs in at 6.5 % alcohol by volume. Why squeeze such a big brew into a little can? Because we think fun in the great outdoors calls for great beer. Our cans go where bottled beers can't, where flavorless canned beers don't belong. And no matter where you drink Dale's Pale Ale, our can protect it from light and oxidation far better than bottles do.

Northern Brewer for bittering, Cascade and Columbus for flavor, and a big, post-boil addition of Centennial for aroma.

pours a very pretty transparent reddish copper with a nice billowy white head. Aroma has a lot of orange peel, resinous notes, and a nice hop presence still nicely balanced by a very solid malt character. The flavor is excellent- the striking hops seem to come in two phases: one near the start, and one at the finish. Interspersed between those points are notes of sweetness, like honey and caramel, along with citrus. Palate is quite nice for the style, excellent APA.

Beautiful amber pour with vivacious lasting tight foamy white head. Aroma is citrus, sharp but welcome resin, and grassy hop notes. This brew has its bases covered with respect to hop facets, and balances it expertly with the slightest biscuity caramel. Flavor is incredibly balanced- starts out with powerful caramel and molasses with a hint of honey. Near the end the ho bite comes though with full force. Grassy, lemony, and powerful though quite manageable. Palate is velvety and rich. Best APA I’ve had to date.

Straight from the can. Great session. 24 or 30 pk would be great. Great balance of citrusy hops and caramel malt. Slighty more hoppy. Very good.

Can at Church Key, North Beach, San Francisco, with Phyllis, 26th Mar 09. Slightly hazy copper. Candy, fruit aroma. Good balance of malt and hops, very drinkable.

This beer is great, very hoppy, not too much on the malty side, but I thought this would qualify as an IPA, tastes like one in my book. Wonderful hop presence and profile, crisp, easy to drink. A very solid beer.

can: Poured orange with a big head. Smelled of piney hops and sweet malt. Taste was piney citrus hops with a sweet slightly bitter finish. Medium body slightly thick moiuth feel. Overall surprised by the can!

Quality everytime. Very evergreen smell. The hops are incredibly present in the taste as well, but there are more malts than in the smell. This is a great beer for anytime. And when you’re done...if you feel so inclined, you can smash this beer’s container on your forehead without fear of getting glass jammed into your skull.

Another good beer in a can from Oskar Blues. Pours a copper color with a nice sweet hop nose of citrus and pine. Flavors follow, with stong citrus hops and a little vanilla. Good IPA.
