BeerFanDan17 (610), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA Jul 21, 2008 Hoppy and delish! A superior American style pale ale. Sampled at the St. Pete Florida Craft Beer Fest. Very hoppy and crisp but not too strong. Oskar Blues continues to brew great beers! LilBeerDoctor (1480), East Setauket, New York, USA Jul 20, 2008 Can. Pours an amber/brown, clear, with a small head. Aroma is surprisingly fruity. I was reminded of strawberry, raspberry, and banana Starburst candies. Flavor of the same fruits with a bitter finish. Incredibly delicious and as I said before, surprisingly fruity! Awesome APA and so drinkable. ChazMania (408), Pasadena, California, USA Jul 20, 2008 Canned. Poured into pint glass, mild aromas of hops, clear and orange in color. Good straight up pale ale, some malty flavors. I enjoy that some good beers are now available from a can. jsh12bama (335), Alabama, USA Jul 19, 2008 Pours copper with off white head. Nice citrus hops aroma. Medium mouthfeel. Easy drinking APA with nice balance of malt and hops. Good beer. GarrettB (494), Seattle, Washington, USA Jul 18, 2008 Dale’s Pale Ale has an air of backwoods drinkin’, but it ain’t no can of Bud or bottle of moonshine. This is a top shelf pale ale, and if it weren’t for the price tag, I’d be fooled. A deep orange and amber color, a thin fuzzy head and it has all the looks of a pale ale. What I don’t find is a grapefruity hop bomb. The aroma stresses the scent of grains, deep and pungent, with wheat favoritism and the classic smell of baguettes, oats and the general impression of a bread basket. Yes, the taste is bitter, but 1) the bitterness dissipates quickly after the first sip and 2) It’s not mouth puckering grapefruit. I LOATH that. Smooth, filling, roasted and bready flavors, with a subdued hoppy after-twang, this is a fantastic and very portable can of beer. Easy drinking. scoobysnak (249), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA Jul 14, 2008 One of the nicest looking APA’s I’ve had a pillowy offwhite head that had awesome lacing and great staying power. Smell is resiny hops with a good citrus note and some ruby grapefruit also, with a little malt presence. Taste is very nice. Good sweet citrus taste with some grapefruit and a mice malts presence too it. A very good APA, I don’t after drinking a couple Oskar Blues out of can I am starting to really like the canning idea. skoisirius (570), Seattle, Washington, USA Jul 14, 2008 Can and tap. As far as the so-called American Pale goes...heh, to me, THIS is a Pale! Not thinned out and watery like most, Dale’s brings a huge malt presence up front and then just pushes a slightly unbalanced (in a good way of course) flushes of bitter hops all over the palate. Perfect for camping as it’s not too heavy in ABV, and its compactable! This is one of my summer favorites! Nihon (239), Vernon, Connecticut, USA Jul 12, 2008 Canned, nice pour copper/amber color. Very nice floral hoppy aroma. Taste is much better than I expected(don’t judge a book by it’s cover!), very hoppy, not too bitter, definite notes of citrus, almost grapefruit. Aftertaste was a little strong(which can be good or bad, depending on your perspective), but the can I had was pretty warm.
