Nice strong smell of pine and citrus with some malt sweetness noticeable. Taste is pine, pine, pine with a hint of citrus. Yummy! Mouthfeel is medium with a good bitter aftertaste. Much like an IPA. Would have liked it a tad sweeter though it is still definitely the best pale I’ve had. Glad it is finally available in Texas. matt7215 (965), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 24, 2008 Pours a filtered liquid gold color. Looks fantastic in the glass. The head is medium bodied with a small amount of lacing that lingers. The aroma is of pine, hops, with a touch of citrus. The mouthfeel is medium sharp with a decent amout of carbonation. Flavor is very hoppy for only a pale ale (i.e. not an IPA). The finish has the sting of bright hop flavors unlike anything I have had. Great beer! phishpond417 (1935), Madison, Wisconsin, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 20, 2008 Pours copper with rocky off-white head. Aroma is a tried and true combination of pale malt and citrus hops with some great caramel and butter toffee notes also coming through. Flavor has great bitterness for a pale ale in the form of grapefruit hoppiness balanced with some caramel malts. Smooth, full body. One of the best pales I’ve ever had.
