Jvittorio4187 (255), Boardman, Ohio, USA Mar 2, 2008 Can from mcbackus. Pours a cloudy orange with anice white head. Aoma is very good, lots of hops and citrus. Tase is very clean, slightly earthy. Finish is powerful with hops. Very nice. RomanW70 (297), Providence, Rhode Island, USA Feb 27, 2008 Shaker glass. Pours gold with a one finger head. Aroma a nice milx of caramel/toffee malts and floral hops. This is a well balanced beer with sweet malts and a nice bitter finish. Extremely drinkable. Another fine addition to a mind-blowing beer week! durhambeer (1186), Durham, USA Feb 27, 2008 Arguably close to an IPA... very fruity hops and way too easy to drink. I assumed this was closer to 5.5-6% abv. A bit thin on the palate, but that’s my only complaint. This is dangerously drinkable. Quake1028 (633), Tampa, Florida, USA Feb 24, 2008 Draught at Oldsmar Tap House. Copper body with some amber highlights. 2 finger thick off white head, great retention and lacing. Head is densely packed, very soapy and sudsy looking. Hops attack the nose on first whiff, followed by a wave of caramel/toffee hops, then more citrus and piney notes. Flavor profile consists of tons of citrus and green hops, sweet caramel malts, some grassy notes and then more bitter citrus fruits. Medium bodied, very creamy for an APA. Slick on the tongue, very easy to drink. Finish is lengthy, full of bitterness and ensuing sweetness, then citrus fruits and pine that carry on. Great beer. thechandler (268), Morgantown, West Virginia, USA Feb 23, 2008 Golden and hoppy. A bit bitter. For a canned beer, this stuff is pretty good. Generally though, not great. May have to try again though. padrefan98 (787), (San Diego) Santee, California, USA Feb 23, 2008 12 oz can. Pretty darn good for an ipa in a can. I liked the hoppiness and the malts were there with some sweetness too. Radek Kliber (3926), Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), Ontario, Canada Feb 22, 2008 Can 355ml
Appearance: Color of dark amber with honey , large dense pillow like head. Fine lace created. Nose : Haahh… plenty of hops but not those cheap rough wet leafy one. This one is gentle giant. Aromatic high alpha with strong hints of fresh mango. Sweet hops created superb refreshing qualities.9- Flavor/Palate : Medium bodied. Woody bitterness shortly visits up front, west side hops dominate the centre. Bolder chewy green side stays behind (thankfully was quiet). Prime example how bold can be approachable, smooth it make it sweeter yet sill with tons of hops. Beer can and superb hoppy ale, brewers Campbell soup of Andy’s Warhol?
stefanje (937), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA Feb 22, 2008 Updated: Mar 1, 2008Courtesy of fordest. 12 oz can shared with fordest and padrefan. Poured a mostly clear copper color with a medium off-white head that left plenty of lacing in the glass. The aroma featured big citrus notes of sweetened grapefruit and tangerines. My first impression of the taste is that it is similar to SNPA. That said, it was quickly evident that this brew is much more complex. Biter hops are in the forefront, as you would expect from a pale ale, with cotton candy, grapefruit, biscuit and oranges filing in the sides. The mouthfeel was silky smooth and even. The finish long and bittersweet. Overall: This has got to be the best pale ale to ever come out of a can. Thanks again fordest.
