Fruity and earthy hop aromas. Nice, dry, robust malt, quaffable, and balanced. Good stuff. DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 31, 2005 (12 oz can: Obtained in trade with CaptainCouger, thanks Tom!) and (12 oz can: Liquid Solutions in Tigard, OR) Beer out of a can, yeah right, this’ll suck. {takes sip} Sweet Jesus, this is great! Extremely flavorful pale ale, very malty, sweet, lightly bready, fruity, and easily balanced by a fairly bitter hoppiness that takes over and dominates the finish. I’m getting that tea-like character I find in some double IPAs. There’s even a slight smokiness in the finish. The nose isn’t as impressive as the flavor, being mostly grainy, a bit toasty, and lacking the balancing hops we get in the flavor. Very creamy and smooth mouthfeel, perhaps just a bit too zesty from carbonation, and with the bitter hops providing a crisp, cleansing finish. Golden amber in color, plus a slight haziness. At least an inch of off-white head forms during the pour, and the head maintains a thin layer throughout the session, leaving a large rim of lace at the top of the glass, with scattered patches below. I’d say this is one of the best pale ales I’ve ever tasted, as tasty and delicious as some double IPAs, though obviously not quite as strongly flavored or alcoholic. It’s about as "big" as a pale ale can get and still be a pale ale. And it comes from a CAN! Bravo! michael-pollack (2679), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA

Poured amber in color. Medium, off-white head lasted. Ok head. Sparkling and clear. Flavor was nutty, hoppy, malty and skunky. Mildly sweet and bitter. Also tastes like dough. Light to medium body. Soft carbonation. Not balanced. An ok Pale Ale. Note: after we said it was skunky, the brewer tried it, agreed, and immediatly changed the keg. notalush (2660), Denver, Colorado, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 10, 2007 Updated: Feb 11, 2007The aroma has citrus hops and lightly toasted caramel malts. The appearance is amber with a foamy, two finger head. The flavor is sweet and hoppy and very much like the aroma which is simple but good. The palate is sticky but bordering on thin with a hint of a metallic aftertaste. This has more hops than most American pale ales. Overall, I like it. Gusler (2655), Tucson, Arizona, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 22, 2003 If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a 1000 times; I don’t like “Beer” from a can! Kegs, bottles, a Horse trough, but not from a “can”, you get that “metal tasting thang”!
The beer pours a limpid amber color, the head is modest, and the consistency frothy the color off white and the residual lace a very fine covering sheet to seal off the glass. A pleasant floral aroma appears first, then the sweet malt, fresh and crisp, hints of lemons or limes, not quite sure may have to sample several dozen to be sure. Start is malt laden and sweet, the top middling in its feel to the palate; finish has a moderate carbonation and a commodious Hop presence, the aftertaste dry and maybe a bit alcohol bitter.
Well, I can say I must “Eat” or “Drink” my words as it were, this is one fine beer and from a can yet.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 29, 2007 Big, rushing cascade of foam in a tall pilsener glass, bad can, dark-tinged brown-gold beer. Big, butternut caramel fruity aroma. Prominent orange/grapefruit flavors, some sugary and woody tones. Goes a bit vacant in the middle before a dusty, citrus finish.
