Commercial Description:
Brewed with hefty amounts of European malts and four kinds of American hops, it delivers a blast of hop aromas, a rich middle of malt and hops, and a thrilling finish. It weighs in at 6.5 % alcohol by volume. Why squeeze such a big brew into a little can? Because we think fun in the great outdoors calls for great beer. Our cans go where bottled beers can't, where flavorless canned beers don't belong. And no matter where you drink Dale's Pale Ale, our can protect it from light and oxidation far better than bottles do.

Northern Brewer for bittering, Cascade and Columbus for flavor, and a big, post-boil addition of Centennial for aroma.

Pours a bright clear copper color with a tan well proportioned head. An aroma of American hops (grapefruit, citrus, and pine) plus some un-recognizable weird aroma that quickly fades. A nice sharp pale ale that finishes with a nice bitterness and it has lots of hop flavor. Definitely hop dominated, though there is a bit of biscuity maltiness in here, as well as some sweet malt character. This is definitely a well crafted pale ale that I would be happy to take on a camping trip. As my palate becomes used to this beer I get a solid contribution from crystal malt. It starts in the middle and goes through to the finish.

12 oz can. Pours a bright clear copper with a fluffy off-white one finger head. Nice retention and lacing. Bright citric hop aroma over a bready and toasted malt base, very clean. Nice moderate citric hop flavor with a well balanced malty backbone. Crisp and thirst quenching. Medium bodied with a creamy mouthfeel despite fairly active carbonation. A very solid Pale Ale. Anybody who can claim to tell that this is from a can is either crazy or a liar.

12oz can. Pours a murky orangish-brown color; gorgeous, fluffy, light-tan head with great retention and glass-coating lacing. Pleasant mix of piney and citrus hops in the aroma; candy sugar and maple syrup maltiness. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: lively carbonation and citrus hops at the tip of the tongue; chewy and resiny hop presence throughout, with just enough earthy maltiness to balance things out; still, definitely a hop-forward IPA with a great citrus and pine character. Lengthy, drying citrus and candy sugar finish. Kudos to the can.

Can, pre-TOOL concert. Pours a beautiful and thick amber, with a nice head and intricate lacing. Aroma is an offshoot of grapefruit with a slight roasted malt presence. Flavor is full-on sour, with notes of grapefruit and grassy hops. A slight tinge of grape seems to be lingering. Full, flowing mouthfeel. Don’t let the cheap-looking can fool you; this is a damn good beer.

Can (35 cl) at the Rover, Göteborg, sweden. Clear amber with a medium off-white head. Caramelly malt aroma, with floral and piney hops. Medium bodied and a bit spritzy mouthfeel. Nicely balanced with a marked bitterness.

My beer of choice while attending a NASCAR event. No glass allowed, then bring a can. Big fluffy tan head when the tab is pulled back. Wonderful pine aroma. Smooth citrus flavor. A great APA that is much better than most IPAs.

I tried this 3 times on our vacation: First on tap at the Fort Collins Brew Fes - it was medium bodied and a little too sweet. 2nd - on tap at Ed’s Cantina in Estes Park - much better balanced, well hopped with a dry finish. 3rd time - out of the can while at our campsite at Sand Dunes - this is a nice hoppy pale ale..

Can pours a very translucent orange, large white milk froth like head, very light carbonation, with very sticky lacing.   Malt and grain on the nose, albeit subtle.   Very soft hop presense as well.   Immediately up front is a grain like bitterness, slightly salty, with some hops in the background.   As it warms it turns into a heavy maltiness.   So-so body, full mouthfeel.   Finishes malty with a strong lingering hop bitterness.   I didn’t like the start of this beer, but as it warmed it became a bit better.
