Commercial Description:
Brewed with hefty amounts of European malts and four kinds of American hops, it delivers a blast of hop aromas, a rich middle of malt and hops, and a thrilling finish. It weighs in at 6.5 % alcohol by volume. Why squeeze such a big brew into a little can? Because we think fun in the great outdoors calls for great beer. Our cans go where bottled beers can't, where flavorless canned beers don't belong. And no matter where you drink Dale's Pale Ale, our can protect it from light and oxidation far better than bottles do.

Northern Brewer for bittering, Cascade and Columbus for flavor, and a big, post-boil addition of Centennial for aroma.

Can pours a hazy orange amber with a fairly coarse beige head. Moderate malty and slightly soapy hop aroma. Big hoppy flavor. Rather soapy and piney. Plenty of psudeu micro IPAs can’t keep up with this.

Can. Pours a slightly hazy orange with a nicely-sized off white head. Aromas are minimal, but have a nice mix of malt and citrus hops. Flavor is a nicely balanced combination of the same with a bit of a pine bite to the finish. Comes across as a fairly heavily hopped APA, maybe IPA would be a better category, but who am I to say. I could drink a lot of these.

Orange-ish amber with a thin off-white head. Aroma of citrus hops, mild floral hops and caramel. Taste is more of the same wrapped up in a somewhat sticky body that finishes mildly bitter with a little pine mixed in.

Nice clear light copper pour with a thick white head. Moderate fresh pine hop aroma floats well over a nice malt base. Light palate. Smooth taste, with a decent citrusy hop finish. Extremely drinkable, and a pleasure to drink as well. Well done.

(11/1/08) Draught at Father’s Office in Santa Monica. Slightly hazy amber color. Hoppy aroma with some flowers and some light toasty malt notes. Sweetish flavor with some malt and caramel. Continues bitter and hoppy with a bit of citrus and light spicy hops notes. Medium-bodied. Quite nice.

12 oz can. Beautiful clear amber with a monster off-white head. Aroma of biscuity malt and floral hops. Taste is GRAPEFRUIT plus a ton of hops, pine and toasty malts. Moderately sweet with a lingering bitter grapefruit rind finish. Very full, round and creamy with subtle carbonation. Lacing hangs on the glass in sheets. Good American Pale Ale.
