Commercial Description:
Brewed with hefty amounts of European malts and four kinds of American hops, it delivers a blast of hop aromas, a rich middle of malt and hops, and a thrilling finish. It weighs in at 6.5 % alcohol by volume. Why squeeze such a big brew into a little can? Because we think fun in the great outdoors calls for great beer. Our cans go where bottled beers can't, where flavorless canned beers don't belong. And no matter where you drink Dale's Pale Ale, our can protect it from light and oxidation far better than bottles do.

Northern Brewer for bittering, Cascade and Columbus for flavor, and a big, post-boil addition of Centennial for aroma.

Pours a clear shade of burnt orange. Retains a very thin layer of foam. Aromas of almond, sugared grapefruit, wet leaves. Flavor is crisp and clear. Fresh grapefruit juice and a hint of garlic rubbed artichoke. Quenching. Palate is lively while somewhat earthy, leaving just the right sediment of bitterness to soak the mouth. No deviances at all. One of the best straightforward renditions.

Canned version. Large rocky white head sits on top of an attractive clear orange brew. Moderately hoppy aroma with light pine and grapefruit notes. Fairly bitter tasting pale ale from start to finish. Strong grapefruit notes combine with a decent malt background and creates a sweet pine like finish. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Very enjoyable.

From a can (?) from mreusch (thanks Matt!) Pours a beautiful copper amber shade. Aroma is hops and a little caramel sugar. Full fluffy head. that dissipates to substantial lacing. A truly beautiful beer. Flavor is hops and a tinge of pine, tastes more of a IIPA with the complexity. Slight bitter finish. Would definitely have again if I could find it in Ca!

Had this beer on 4/23/2003. Aroma is full of fresh hops. Color is a crisp clear gold with ok carbonation and a nice head. When opening the can it seems as though there is going to be no carbonation but this is not the case. Taste is fresh and hoppy. Starting with a light body it goes down with a lightly cream feel. Finish is a creamy malt flavor baked by a fresh hop flavor and nice bitterness. Overall this is a top notch pale ale.

Pours a reddish orange color with a medium sized off white head. Nose is fruity, toasted malt, and floral hops. Taste is mild and of biscuits with a very bitter finish. Pretty good APA remindes me of Alpha Kappa. HOwever the nose and taste seems to fade as it is exposed to air which is odd.

can....appearance:clearest IPA that i’ve seen in my day. translucent golden brown with a thin slightly off-white head....aroma: grassy, piney hops that wasn’t too assertive at all which takes away from its appeal.....taste: bitter pine hops with an almost metallic like taint to it which i didn’t particularly enjoy. caramel malt adds to the taste profile but generally speaking, there are better IPAs out there and would choose a two hearted or alesmith over this one (out of the ones i’ve had and enjoyed which isn’t a whole lot!).

Draught at The Ginger Man (Manhattan - NY).
Orange/reddish color with good head of discreet duration. Much flowery and perfumed aroma with optimal notes of wood, cask and toasted sugar. Dense and barren taste, rather sweetish but that towards the end it is developed in a determined and alcoholic bitter. Balsamic and harmonious, good persistence.

Pours amber with a light white head. Caramelly, hoppy aroma. Flavor is rich and hoppy for a pale. Lots of sweet malts and bitter bitter hops. A nice long bitter finish. Great flavor. This is pretty awesome for a pale.
