Commercial Description:
Brewed with hefty amounts of European malts and four kinds of American hops, it delivers a blast of hop aromas, a rich middle of malt and hops, and a thrilling finish. It weighs in at 6.5 % alcohol by volume. Why squeeze such a big brew into a little can? Because we think fun in the great outdoors calls for great beer. Our cans go where bottled beers can't, where flavorless canned beers don't belong. And no matter where you drink Dale's Pale Ale, our can protect it from light and oxidation far better than bottles do.

Northern Brewer for bittering, Cascade and Columbus for flavor, and a big, post-boil addition of Centennial for aroma.

12oz can - Aroma is chewy carmel malts and hops. Pours dark orange with medium head and good lacing. Flavor is matches aroma. Palate is creamy and smooth. The best can of beer I’ve ever had.

This is the best can of beer I’ve ever drank - thanks CaptainCougar. Well colored for a pale ale, gold with a good sized white head. Aroma is very C hoppish. Piney & slightly citrusy. Flavor is a balanced mixed of bitterness a sweet doughy malt. Finish is dry and lingers for a long period of time.

12 oz can

I have had a few of these now, so it is about time to sit down and rate one. It’s probably the best beer I have ever found in a can, closely rivaled only by Old Chub. This is a definite ice breaker for people who might be wary of craft beer - despite being a can, you can still pick up much of flavor and nuances. For tasting purposes I used my snifter.

Aroma / Apppearance - The one finger clean white head lingered for a while over the body which was a nutty brown. Only a slight amount of carbonation was evident; otherwise things were pretty calm. The nose was a nice combination of orange, citrus, spruce, lemons and pineapple. It is very obvious that this is a hoppy beer just from the aroma.

Flavor / Palate - The hops are the first thing to be detected. They come across as a mixture of spruce, wood chips, orange peels and caramel. After they fade a trace amount of bitterness remains. The mouthfeel is full and creamy. A resiny finish contributes to the experience, which is very pleasing. When focusing I picked up honey and sharp aged cheddar cheese. This is one I plan on picking up for summer picnics and barbeques where everyone is drinking out of bottles and plastic caps. Even in the can it does not lose much character.

poured a orange-amber hue with a thin white head which had great retention. Aroma seemed to be full of bitter hops and very mild citrus notes. Flavor had mild caramel malts with an almost peppery hop bite. Seemed thin on the palate. finish was dry.

12oz can. This a hell of a Pale Ale. At first sip it seems a little bit like an IPA, but after a few sips you realize this is just a top notch APA. Cloudy orange-brown color. Light floral and hoppy aroma. Sandy dry but sweet mouthfeel. Truly classic, quality beer.

Draft at TRIA in Philadelphia. Good hazy dark orange, good head. Great nose of American hops. Taste of sweet malts, orange, pine, grapefruit, with a bitter finish. Almost an IPA. Nice.

330ml Can (Pikkulintu, Helsinki)- Amber in colour with a nice hoppy aroma along with peach and a bit of toffee. Well balanced taste with peaches, toffee and a nice hoppiness. Maybe I am going overboard because I am pleasantly surprised by this but it is the best canned beer I have ever had.
