Commercial Description:
Brewed with hefty amounts of European malts and four kinds of American hops, it delivers a blast of hop aromas, a rich middle of malt and hops, and a thrilling finish. It weighs in at 6.5 % alcohol by volume. Why squeeze such a big brew into a little can? Because we think fun in the great outdoors calls for great beer. Our cans go where bottled beers can't, where flavorless canned beers don't belong. And no matter where you drink Dale's Pale Ale, our can protect it from light and oxidation far better than bottles do.

Northern Brewer for bittering, Cascade and Columbus for flavor, and a big, post-boil addition of Centennial for aroma.

Pint @ Rattle n Hum shortly after my 1,000th rating. Tastes of ripe and oily hops. Florals and citrus notes.. Somewhat spicy, but nicely balanced. Maintains a high level of drinkablity while remaining relatively complex.. Very nice!

Amber pour with nice off-brown head. Nice big nose of hops and pine. Flavor is very hoppy with a medium roasted malt body. Finish is clean.

"It’s the only beer we got that comes in a can". These were the words of the bartender as he plopped this offering down in front of me. After my initial shock I grabbed a glass, and poured it... and sure enough I was rewarded with a pleasant tasting pale ale, albeit with a tinge of a metallic flavor.

Can from Discount Liquor. Pour is a crystal clear reddish gold, thick fluffy head. Nose is distinctly C-hopped, though not as big of a hop nose as I’d expect. Definitely clean and no skunk thanks to the can. Very smooth with a refreshing bitterness. Wish I could get this as a regular in Illinois, especially for $8 a sixer. Nice.

Without a doubt the best beer I’ve ever had in a can. Vibrant burnt orange liquid exudes a 1/2 inch meringue head. The aroma exhibits tall douglas fir and citrus notes. The flavor is dominated by aggressive hop bitterness that lasts long after the last sip. Bottling this one might be beneficial as I sensed tin when first tasted. After additional drinks, my taste buds were overwhelmed and that impression diminished. Very good beer...

Can. Pours copper color with a crisp offwhite head, somewhat sticky and nice lace. Smells equally hoppy and malty together, almost honey like, a little metallic as well. Tastes hoppy sweet, slightly caramelly with a bitter finish, some malts in there as well and a little metallic flavor.Thin to medium body, carbonation is a bit subdued.

2008 Can - Pours a dark orange with a large off white head...aroma is sweet and hoppy...flavour is piney and smooth, with a caramel finish and an astringent bittrness that lingers...mouthfeel was pretty bad, coats like dairy with little if any carbonation...also had a metallic quality that had little to do with the can, but still easy drinking and enjoyable...
