Big hoppy aroma, mostly pine, with some peach, orange, grass, and furthermore some toffee, malt and bread. Sweet and malty with enough bitterness and hop flavour to embarras most IPAs. Lasting grapefruit and pine aftertaste. Big and creamy mouthfeel. Lubiere (4536), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 12, 2002 Updated: Jan 19, 2006Draught, Oskar Blues. Head is mostly diminishing. Body is medium amber. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (cookie), moderately hoppy (grapefruit, resin, flowers). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly astringent. Varies a little each time I have it. Virtually gone is the doughy yeast note of its early incarnations, which is good. This sample had a slightly fresher and more pungent PNW hop nose, longer lasting frothier head, and slightly better flavor balance. If I was a bigger fan of PNW hops, I’d probably rate it even higher. Nice improvement over the years. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 31, 2006 Updated: Aug 1, 200612 oz can from Steve’s on Mineral Point Road, Madison, consumed from a VT Brewer’s Fest tasting glass a bit above fridge temperature. Pale, luminous amber in the glass with total clarity and topped by a thick slow-decaying off-white creamy top....apricots, spruce, loads of caramel and a delightful delicate hint of vanilla in the luscious nose....very sweet on the tongue, with a lightly syrupy mouthfeel cut somewhat by the strong dry citric hops that enter in the middle....thins out a bit at the finish, and really rather simple overall, but quite pleasant and a solid choice to let sit in the fridge till needed -- if I could get it regularly. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 22, 2005 Updated: Dec 8, 2005Original Rating (7-4-7-4-14=3.4): Grapefruit, leafy, herbal hops in the nose with some underlying biscuity, toasty malt character. Hazy orange-tan coloured body with a low tan head that recedes to cover with nice lace. Biscuity and toasty malts with leafy, herbal, citrus hops in balance and fair finishing bitterness. Medium light body with moderately lively carbonation. Sampled on tap at Breckenridge.
Rerate (9-4-8-3-17=4.1): Thick, sweet, biscuity and caramel malts with orange, herbal hops apparent. Clear copper coloured body is topped with a decent off white head that lasts well and laces. Strong grapefruit, orange, herbal hops with fairly strong bitterness over sweet caramel malts that have some pleasant toasty notes. Dry, medium-light body with moderate carbonation. Can enjoyed with MartinT, Olivier_MTL and Rastacouere. heemer77 (4307), Savannah, Missouri, USA
