Taste is dominated by big citrus hops, and very balanced smooth malt. This beer is a great example of why you shouldn’t judge book by it’s cover. Big beer in a small can, Dig it!!! | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 27, 2009 Definitely on my top pale ales list. Great aggressive hop bite, amazing drinkability. However, this is definitely a hop heads pale ale. Stays fresh for long in the can. Ibrew2or3 (2761), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | May 18, 2007 12oz can pours crystal clear copper with fluffy off white head. Very nice aroma for a pale. Plenty of strength with loads of citrus hops with grapefruit mixed with sweeter orange juice and orange rind. At a lesser extent there’s a solid malt aroma backing up the hops. I smell both sweet caramelized malts and pale to grainy malts. Yum. The flavor starts with a mix of grapefruit hop bitterness and a vague malt sweetness. Toward midway in the taste profile a pale, grain and biscuit malt mixture grows and adds superb balance to the hop flavors. It doesn’t take long before the load of grapefruit hop bitterness re-asserts itself and temporarily squashes the malts into submission. There is a moment here and there when a sweeter citrus orange hop flavor can be detected. Into the finish I get a lingering grapefruit hop bitterness and a faint maltiness. Another full flavored well balanced brew from Oskar. riversideAK (2731), Shoreline, Washington, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Mar 9, 2007 The aroma on this beer is amazing. Strong citrus and pine. Flavor is more of the same. This is an awesome beer. Amost too hoppy for me to consider it an APA, but I cant complain. hopson (595), Williamsville, New York, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 8, 2006 Updated: Jun 28, 2007drank this one straight from the can to start, and then poured it in the glass. Had to for old times sake. Aroma was very citrusy (grapefruit), perfumy with floral notes...dark orange/brown color was a highlight, big white head to it...flavor was appealing, nice bitterness. Don’t discriminate because it is in a can. dankman38 (228), Somewhere in, Ohio, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 14, 2009 I will make this rating as short and sweet as possible. This beer is one of the best balanced pale ales available today; well balanced, easy drinking and, available in cans. My only complaint is that it isn’t available locally. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 8, 2009 I picked up a six pack during a breif beer raid in Buffalo. Love the deep orange color! Flavor is better still, remarkable depth in both malt and hop profiles.
Amazingly drinkable for what it is too. Sorry I’m getting a little excited here but A.P.A. choices are slim north of the border and this is the best I’ve had. Hmmmm.....the border’s only 2 hours from here.....be right back..... Cruzan59 (197), Lititz, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jul 1, 2009 Can’t believe I’m just getting to this rating now...maybe because I knew it wasn’t a one-off purchase. Absolutely by far "thee" best beer I’ve ever had in a can. And this Pale Ale can challange anything in a bottle...not that it has to be in a bottle to be good. Definitely glass worthy...nice amber pour...frothy off-white head...smooth mouthfeel...nice hop character and malt balance...this is a staple in my fridge...goes in that cool can rack on the door!
